Why is Kit Fisto so popular?

do you REALLY think there'd be people running around giggling and providing comic-relief?

That was not comic relief. I saw that as "Confident, aggressive enjoyment." In a strangely sinister way.

I think that's part of the allure of the character. He obviously likes to have good time, and he's sick about it. And, you can see that from just 16 or 17 seconds of total screen time.

Come on!!!! Just look at the guy! How could you not like him. He looks like he would be a cool, polite, and all-around fun guy. The life of the party!!!

And he smiles alot.

 

i hate him. hes stupid lookin. looks really cheesy. id rather even see a cgi jedi. but even the human extras looked stupid. o well.
hope somebody makes him into a cacass in episode 3.

 

No, that's just why YOU hate Fisto.
Have a look at the topic title again, and try to come with a reason why he's one of the most popular 'supporting' Jedi.

 

I think it's because just during the Battle of Geonosis sequence we see him kicking butt with a lightsaber, using the Force, and smiling. He shows that being a Jedi isn't all about being serious and stone-faced.

 

Why do people like Kit Fisto? His name is cool, his species looks cool, when he swings a lightsaber he looks cool, and he's just cool.

Yes, most of the jedi seem quite serious and Fisto is easily noticed among them because of his smile.

Kit Fisto looks good. Reason number one; he has that nice smile and number two; big, black eyes. I can't resist anything with big, cute eyes.

I think the smile is the catalyst. Without it, he'd just be another random Jedi, with nothing distinguishing him from the rest of the freaks (meant in the nicest way possible). The smile, however, shows him to have personality, gives him a defining characteristic. It caps off the image he already has with the look and the name.

Ahmed Best (I think) mentions Fisto in the Web Documentary on extras on the AOTC DVD. He says that he's just an extra at first, but then by giving him a name, you create this backstory, this image, and you know that there's a lot more to this guy then what you see on screen.

I actually like Tambor something or another, the Jedi that gets nailed attacking Dooku. He wasn't afraid to mix it up with the big guys, too bad Mace didn't kill Dooku when he had the chance.

 

The smile, he looks cool, etc. Plus, it doesn't help that the guy who portrayed him is kinda hot.


The smile makes him look scary, if you think about it. Someone who starts smiling when he's kicking ass is probably someone you don't wanna mess with.

Luca$ should have given kit some lines. Im tired of the same ol' jedi getting lines. Kit had enouugh screen time to merit some lines.

It's a combination of things. Yes, the smile is a factor, but only because the Jedi are such a solomn, serious lot. To have a smiling Jedi is unique and a very pronounced character statement. I hope we see more of the joy he obviously feels about fighting the good fight in Ep III.

First off, the point is to make the other monkey die for his causes.

That said and to drag my post back on topic, I can't tell you why he's so popular but put me down for a being a fan of his! I look at his fighting style(brief peek) and that devil may care grin and I say, "Yeah!"

 

I like it when the Jedi are charging toward the droids and then you see Kit going ahead of the rest of them and slicing the droids one by one.

 

Off the top of my head, its the "devil-may-care" attitude he seems to have and he doesn't seem to be all stressed out about the combat. As was stated in the preceding post, he was running out ahead of the pack to get the first licks in. Great warrior spirit exemplifying true "Mushin." My 6-year-old son picked Kit's figurine out as one of the first he bought after seeing AOTC. When asked why that one, he replied "He's cool cause he was laughing AND fighting AND a green Jedi, Dad!" Leave it to a little kid to cut it down to basics.

 

That's why kids are so cool. They usually have the best explanations.

 

Maybe its that cute lil smile that he has or his attitude. No matter what the reason,I still like him...A LOT.
