I think he's popular because he looks cool, the same reason Plo Koon is popular. A lot of people like his trademark grin aswell. I geuss that's it.

Yeah. The cooler a character looks, the more fans he will have. Just look at Tas Kee in the Outlander club. A person with a slip on mask and cheap costuming with no fans.

I am also mystified why so many people love Kit. The fanatacism and admiration of Kit rivals Boba Fett!

I had a friend of mine watch Ep2 for the first time and when I asked what he liked best, Yoda, Clone war, he said "the Jedi with the dreadlocks that kicks ass".

    I had no response.

Im not sure about the 'Cooler the look, the more popular the character" theory. I mean, look at AuraSing. She looks about as cool as our Dads brakdancin in a neon yellow leasure suit. She has a following of fans.

Perhaps he cannot be ignored due to the fact he is surrounded by more human Jedi than alien. You think he would stand-out along side YareelPoof, Yaddle, and that fury Jedi (forgot his name ,has a tale now) and have all attention on him?

There's also currently a thread over in the Episode III forum concerning his upcoming death in that movie, if anyone's interested.

I also admit the grin is what sparked my interest, but his gung-ho style, leading the line of Jedi in the arena as well as a clone squad in the outside battle didn't go unnoticed. :)

Just say a few words - KIT FISTO RULES!!!!

And just to think, would it be so cool to be his padawan!!!! I think so anyway.

Did any one see the cartoon episode with Kit in it? I only saw the end - love that victory grin! Anyway does he even talk? - At all?

Oh! One more thing - Im gonna cry if we see Kit die in the next movie :-(

In the EP3 spoilers forum, I posted this in response to someone's request for an "excruciating death" for Kit Fisto.

I've heard many things along these lines involving Kit. Why do so many hate this background character? The question can also be asked: Why do so many love this character?

He really hasn't done enough to warrant a glorious death, but, at the same time, he (like the Boba Fetts and Darth Mauls of the world...to a lesser extent) has gained a cult following. Whether he goes out with a bang, or a whimper, remains to be seen. All I can say is that both sides of the fence should be prepared to see something that balances out his standing as a background character with the subtle amount of charisma he brings to the screen.

Someone also said that since some people liked the character, that caused people that disliked the character to begin to hate him. And since people started hating the character, more people started liking the character. And, since more people started liking the character, more people started hating him. And so on and so forth. I'm not sure, but this may have something to do with all of this. For every person that has a reason to like him, there seems to be someone that has a reason (legitimate or otherwise) to hate him. This, I guess, is how cult followings are made.

    >an "excruciating death" for Kit Fisto

I'd say he should be thrown to the Sarlacc, but then some EU hack would bring 'im back. The next best thing would be Darth Sidious making an example of him with force lightning - roasting him 'til his eyeballs pop.

I should also say that this: >Patience, people. He will die. cracked me up pretty good. :D

I don't know but he is pretty cool and he had his own highlight in the CW cartoon which should be longer in episode length.

While he was pretty cool in the Clone Wars Episode, I still don't like him. His grin rubbed me the wrong way in AOTC and I took an immediate disliking to his character.

Boba Fett is vastly superior to Kit Fisto :(

I never liked him myself either for the same reason. His smile annoyed me, why would he smile after force knocking over C-3P0/Battle Droid? I doubt he knew that was C-3PO... But I just didn't like him. The Clone wars episode was interesting with him in it, but still was not close to something I liked.

And yes, the droideka is correct :) Boba Fett >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kit Fisto

"then some EU hack would bring 'im back"

:) I love it! That's pretty much the function of an EU hack, isn't it? To bring back dead characters! [face_laugh]

Well, I think that many fans of Kit would be very upset if and when Kit dies. Hopefully he doesn't die in vain.

By the way, who is Master Tahl? Was he the guy who got shot by Jango in the Arena? Can't remember!

Don't worry ... today I was reading one of my brother's Star Wars book, (the ones when Obi-wan was a Padawan) and found out that Master Tahl was a SHE. And the Qui-gon had a crush on her 0-o naughty.

I just had to make that clear before someone thought I was a complete nutter.

If he could talk backwards like Yoda
he'd be the powerful, popular Jedi ever.

    You are very much right.

When I saw him in the cinema, and I didn't know his name and background, I thought, "hey, that guy looks cool."

Then I read comments written by his fans, and liked him more. :D

    Best Jedi after Qui-Gon Jinn.

    Why?

because he's cool, green, and grinning.
