    Volume I is done.

I’m hoping season 2 is more of an adventure show.

so , they're planning a 3 season arc. Trouble is - the titular character is barely in it so far.

I loved that song to end Dire Straights Baby I love that song! Also the original Willow movie came out in the late 80s awesome to end with a cool 80s song!

Sure, it's a good song. But it doesn't fit in Willow at all.

I realize some aren't gonna like contemporary rock songs in Willow show and that's fair but I have no problem with it it's this shows thing to each his own. I think this is a hugely underrated show that I don't think enough people are watching. If you like Star Wars and Medieval fantasy and comedy your gonna love this show!

The Dire Straits song was 'nothing' compared to the "I'm on Fire" cover. [face_sick] What the hell were they even thinking?

This looks / sounds hilariously bad. A shame, since I really enjoy the original film.

So, I'll admit, it took a little while for this show to warm up to me, but after having concluded the last episode, I will say that overall, I enjoyed it. I did not like the use of modern pop/rock songs, nor a lot of the more modern language/vernacular, but those things aside, I enjoyed the series for what it was. I typically do like my fantasy stores to be "serious" and "depressing," but a good balance is needed for everyone, and I think the Willow series did that for me. Most fantasy shows these days really strive to go the "serious" route, so I do think it is refreshing to have a show like Willow that is more lighthearted, and just fun. Which, if we recall, is basically what the Willow film, was, too.

Is the story super solid? No, but it was fun, and as others have said, played on the riff of fantasy RPGs and video games--both in the "questing" and in the composition of the party members. I think the casting folks did a great job here with all of the core cast, and the supporting cast, too. You can tell Warwick and the young actors all had a really great time making this show, and I think there's always something to be said for that.

I applaud Lucasfilm for taking a chance on this. While it is a continuation of a pre-existing property, at least it's not "another Star Wars TV show." I think the production value on this was great--the costumes, set designs, the creatures, the on-location shooting--overall, very well done, and in my mind better then a couple of the SW shows.

Apart of me does wish that all of this talent and effort could have helped set aside differences on the "Children of Blood & Bone" project. I was really looking forward to Lucasfilm tackling that project, and I'm bummed they are no longer involved.

Anyways, I digress. Here's hoping Kasdan is able to get Volume II and Volume II made--perhaps with some contribution of Val Kilmer. I did like how his character really did have a presence in this show, despite not being physically involved.

This cast intro was the best part of the whole series.

I don't need Willow to be all serious and dark, but I would like it to feel like Willow, and not like... whatever original modern/woke fantasy series this was before it decided to tack on the Willow name to better sell itself. That's what this series looks and feels like to me. Nothing I've seen or heard about it makes me want to tune in, so I'm not going to.

Also I never got into any of the Willow books or anything outside the film. They seem to focus on Elora Dannon, and this show seems to focus on Elora Dannon and friends, and I just don't care.

Yeah, it's definitely not for everyone, and I think that is OK, just like with any film, television show, book, music, etc. There's certainly some Star Wars material, for instance, that Lucasfilm has put out, that I don't care much for, but, I am glad it's out there for others to enjoy, too.

Regarding the Willow show, when you say "woke," what exactly are you meaning, or, what are you referring to?

I was simply trying to better understand your perspective on the show itself, that's all. All of us are here on this message board, joined by various common interests, and sharing our perspectives on our common interests, ultimately that is the point of an Internet message board. I did not understand well your feelings towards the show, so I simply asked a clarifying question. We can just move on from the question if it's one that you'd rather not elaborate on, no worries.

I was hesitant with this show, as I had mentioned, and it did take me a little bit to get into, but overall I'm glad I stuck around, as I enjoyed it. I know others have enjoyed it, too, while some have not--and that is ok. Happens all the time with these things.

^ I have no problem with the exploration of temptation toward darkness, but I still don't think Money for Nothin' was at all suitable for a Willow show.

A shameful disaster. I don't expect Kasdan to be working in the industry much longer.

Rather a cringeworthy 20s teen show...it only partly feels like the Willow of the 80s, most of the time they try to give the young audience what they think want (when in fact they havent got clue) and the result is terrible...in the end it both fails as tribute to the original film AND as a modern tv show..

Too bad because i actually enjoyed a couple of scenes, but most of the time the weak, terrible writing is too damaging..

Completely agree. I really don’t understand the criticism, I think the cast is fantastic and the show looks beautiful. The last two episodes are visually spectacular.

The show tells pretty much the exact same story as the SW sequel trilogy but does it in much better fashion. I also loved that Kit and Elora grow as characters as the season progresses.
