What I remember most was the sheet of paper with questions and problems. One of them was a simple math problem:

+1,000,000


I looked at that and thought, Oh, good, a math problem, I'm pretty good at those, so I'll do that easy one first. All right, we start at the right side, zero plus zero... that makes zero... carry the one... Hmmm, this problem is trickier than it looks, I think I'll come back to it later. After that I just kind of spaced out for a while.

 

The answer is 42...

 

That Valsalva manuever also supposedly messes with your blood pressure. Don't try it unless you really need to!

 

I don't know about blood pressure, but you need to be careful about what it does to your ears. Only Valsalva when air pressure is increasing, like when the plane is descending, to equalize the pressure between your ears and the atmosphere. If you do it when pressure is decreasing, like when you're climbing, you can bust an eardrum. I got awfully good at it with all the assault landings we made in Iraq.

A few of you may have already noticed but I've fleshed out our Marine detachment a little bit by adding a few NPCs to the detachment. Hope most of you have seen Aliens so you know the inspiration for most of those NPCs. They are all free use for now, save one. The Duros marine is a GM restricted use NPC for gameplay reasons. Some, all or perhaps none of these may be accompanying us on the mission to sink the Bith Marquis. Figured the time to add them was now though.

As to the timing of my next major update, which will see us launch the search phase of our mission (REDBERRY). I can either try for that early next week for you all (before July 4th ) or we can wait until after July 10th as my time between the 4th and the 9th is going to be extremely limited due to local festivities. So if you all want to take your time to finish up what you're doing, I can wait. Or if most of you are impatient to get us started, I can try to get something in early next week to get us going.

 

Now there is a man who understands my philosophy towards NPCs.

Well, NPCs are a bit like stormtroopers in either of The Force Unleashed games. There for you to play many games with them and then let them fall to their respective deaths.

 

This is the way you grin when you've done your 20 and are at your own retirement ceremony.

Crazy how time flies and since I'm just finding out about this now, ha ha, congrats and thank you for your service!! Incredible how life zooms along!

Miss it? I've got at least 12 years more to retire. I might miss the job, but I won't miss the commute.

 

Yeah, I do miss it, a lot. Of course I'm only remembering the good times, none of the aggravations, annoyances, and idiocies. Human nature, right?
