    The excuse I made is that something happens to Thame shortly after accepting Dooku as his Padawan, then Yoda decides to teach Dooku.

    I think this is the excuse we'll hear eventually.

    Considering THame's obsession with the Sith, I wouldn't be surprised if Palps offed him.

    BTW, THame is only alluded to, never seen, in LOJ, which mostly shows Dooku's relationship with Lorian Nod and Yoda, with a bried glimpse of Oppo Rancisis as well.
