I think that's one reason why they chose Celebrity Skin for the end credits song in Captain Marvel. Not only is it a 90's song with great energy by a female artist, but the one part of the chorus seems to play off of the fact that CM was a late arrival in the MCU (but made it just in time for Endgame) because of some of the very themes the film tries to tackle. So it ends up being a bit of a middle finger from Feige at Ike for holding the film's development back.

Hey, so glad you could make it
Yeah, now you really made it
Hey, so glad you could make it now

Also ‘Celebrity Skin’ links back to Skrolls and shape shifting or skin changers.

Also they had to make CGI skins of younger versions of celebrities starring in the film.

Yeah, and all the cast and crew had skin too, and most of the audiences.

So how did the Tesseract get out of Goose and put in a place where Loki could get it?

Goose hacked it up on Fury's desk (post-credits scene which I oddly kinda predicted something like that would happen)

and it remained in SHIELD custody until Loki took the dang thing.

It's easy to miss/forget. I think it was a mid or end credit scene.

The mid-credit scene is Captain Marvel's post-Infinity War "Where's Fury" scene

(Fun fact, since Fury's pager is the post-credit scene in IW and she shows up in Captain Marvel mid-credits scene that basically makes Carol's plot showing up almost entirely contained to the mid-post-credit stingers aside from the bit in Captain Marvel proper when Fury gives her the beeper)

They keep things on the downlow so much for Marvel Brie Larson actually didn't know what the hell she was shooting and what she's supposed to tonally be "Where's Fury" all about?

the actual post-credit scene in Captain Marvel is Goose hacking up the Tesseract

I believe one of the directors said on a podcast initially their idea for a post-credit scene was Yon-Rogg crashing on Sakkar and being asked "Are you a fighter or are you food?" which could have also been awesome. Shoulda been 3 credit scenes ahhaha.

Tracing the history of the Tesseract:

    1. Left on Earth in Norway prior to 1942.
    2. In 1942, acquired by the Red Skull, then found by Howard Stark in 1944/1945.
    3. Somehow Mar-Vell got it aboard her ship before 1989/acquired by Fury & Shield via Goose in 1995.
4 (Prime timeline): Taken back to Asgard post-Chitauri invasion in 2012.
5 (Prime timeline): Taken by Loki prior to Asgard's destruction in 2018. Crushed by Thanos to acquire the Space Stone, then the Space Stone was destroyed after the Snap.

Alternate timeline #1: taken by Stark and Rogers from 1970 New Jersey; returned by Steve Rogers, although it's unclear how they could have removed it/put it back without destroying the Tesseract like Thanos did.
Alternate Timeline #2: taken by Loki during the Time Heist, and is the basis for the Loki series.

She didn't "somehow" get it on her ship though -- it was part of a joint-SHIELD/NASA project. She did everything in disguise, but more or less on the up-and-up...

Honestly I'm like 50% certain they're just saving Tim Blake Nelson/The Leader for a in-show reveal or closer to release. In my head, this is basically an Incredible Hulk sequel they can get away with legally on D+ without having to release an Incredible Hulk sequel through Universal.

Follow the link, it's actually by Coogler explaining why he chose to stay and how he's fighting the Georgia voter suppression law. It's more nuanced.
