I can't believe I never saw this before!

That was... awesome. I mean, moving, powerful, touching...

I'd love it if it happened that way in Episode III. The characterization was completely dead on and I never felt so much for Obi Wan before...

    Great job! :)

Well I'm glad you did see it and read it. It keeps getting shamelessly bumped up to the top again, but erm, always for pertinent reasons ;) I really will post an update when it's added to the archive with the cover and all.

Anyway, well I suppose it goes to say that I hope Episode III is emotionally powerful as well. It's something I feel really strongly about. Thinking about it makes me feel for Obi-Wan, and for Anakin, so I hope we get both in the film. Thank you very much for your kind comments :)

wow. that was amazing. the characterization was phenomenal, and you portrayed exactly what ive always imagined the 'parting of the ways' between ani/obi would go. obi's thoughts were beautifully portrayed and written, as well as the situation between the two jedi....*picks jaw up off floor* wow!

I am almost sure I read this before and I didn't leave a review? Shame on me!! :D

This is very moving and it deserved to be archived. Congratulations! @};-

I particularly liked this excerpt; The gap was only a finger?s width, and yet it was light years. There was no way to connect. A rift had severed the air between us. It had happened before that. It had started from the beginning. At first I tried to fix it by changing you, but it only made things worse. So I ignored it. I never thought to change myself. I was above being wrong. All those times I?d taken your hand, none were the same as the first time. Before we had time to say anything. Before we had time to stumble and make mistakes. Before we had neglected to say so many things. I know it now, now that it?s too late.

I like that Obi-Wan understands and takes responsibility of what he has done wrong.

    Wonderful viggie! =D=

    the characterization was phenomenal,

Ahhh, in my opinion, the highest compliment I could receive. Thank you very much.

and you portrayed exactly what ive always imagined the 'parting of the ways' between ani/obi would go.

I just feel it's such a powerful moment... Everytime I think about it, it just really makes me sad for both sides. And anxious for EpIII, of course ;) But, yes, I don't usually write vignettes since I like to use details and imagery sparingly for a good reason. I though, though, that something like this warranted all the emotional imagery I could muster. I'm glad it's touched a few chords in readers :)

It's ok, I just have to send you to serve your sentence in lurker prison [face_devil] ;)

I like that Obi-Wan understands and takes responsibility of what he has done wrong.

Before this, I think he really doesn't understand the part of the fault that has been his. He's too proud and sure that he's right to admit it's not all Anakin's fault. I think it takes really seeing the hurt he's caused Anakin, and the rift they've both caused between them, to realise not only the immediate consequences of it, but the deep impact it's going to have on the whole galaxy.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and thank you for your compliments! :)

This story already has the necessary 3+ nominations needed to move onto the voting round of the Summer FanFic Awards (in the Best Vignette category for the Saga era). I just wanted to thank whoever it was that nominated it greatly. I'm very honoured that this piece made enough of an impression on you that you remembered it and still felt strongly enough about it that you wanted to nominate it (however strong... or not strong that ..may...be... I'm confusing myself now :p). In any case, thank you so very much! :)
