    Ambient Darkness: Prey

She blinked the darkness away as her senses regained the world around her. She was in a barren wasteland dominated by the ruins of a civilization long dead. The sky was a noxious brown smear and lightning danced from cloud to cloud in a chaotic net of awesome power.
Sitting up she noticed all the small aches and pains she has long associated with going through a rough ride. Her cloths were dusty and rumpled with tears and rips from were she must have hit the ground. The bruises she felt underneath confirmed it for her.

    ?Where am I??

Her voice cracked a little and she noticed for the first time her dry and sore throat. It felt like she had swallowed a sandblaster and had neglected to turn it off. Coughing she tried to work some spit around her mouth. The night had gotten still and quite.
A low undulating growl echoed from out of the murky darkness, low and threatening. She went on the defensive, crouching low and scanning the terrain for any threat. She reached for her belt, specifically the weapon that she kept on her belt.
Her hand grasped the remains of the leather strap that had secured her weapon. Panic crossed her face for the first time since she awoke. She franticly scanned the area for her weapon.
There, four meters from her lay her only defense against whatever was out there. She started to move and froze as the shadows shifted. She stared hard at the darkness trying to make out what it was.
From out of the gloom a shape lunged, all claws and teeth. An ear piercing roar shattered the silence. She sprung towards her weapon, grabbing it as she rolled past. Blue fire ignited as she brought the blade up as the creature took a swipe at her.
The energy blade sliced through the creature with ease, leaving a smoking stump behind. The creature howled and ran out into the night, leaving her alone in the still ruins.

    Welcome to Ambient Darkness: Prey

An unknown world, removed from the galaxy of your birth awaits you. You?ve been torn unsuspectingly from your home with no memory of how you arrived, you have no friends, no family to help you, nothing but aggravation and terror about what could be around every corner. The terrain is harsh, hostile and unforgiving; the creatures, aggressive and deadly. Only your wits and your skills stand between you and total annihilation. Make friends where you can, for you will need them.

This is a straight forward, sometimes open-ended game. The objectives are simple. Make allies, figure out strategies, and survive... if you can.

    Character Parameters

  2. I will accept Characters from any ?Canon? era of Galactic history(Kotor though Legacy)

  3. Canon characters will also be accepted, with my permission, (PM me for approval first before going to the trouble of creating a canon CS that I may say no to), as long as you can play them believably (Luke Skywalker is not a psychopathic killer only out for himself! Stay true to the character.)

  4. Original characters are also accepted and encouraged. Most sentient species are acceptable.

  5. Force characters are acceptable, but not expected. A normal person has great skill and luck without having the Force (Wedge Antillies, Han Solo, ect). At this time I am not accepting any Sith or blatantly evil characters. This may change in the future.

I think I have the perfect character in mind, but just one question: given that there's going to be Star Wars in Soul Calibur would that be acceptable lore to include in the description?

Biography: Abigail was born in space. Her mother Tiara, a smuggler by trade, was stopped and boarded by Pirates while on a run. The Pirates found her cargo and enslaved her. Over the next four weeks they abused, tortured and raped her to there shriveled hearts content. The pirates eventually ran a fowl of a Republic patrol, and were subsequently destroyed. Tiara was freed, but the Republic medics informed her that she was with child. It was an unknown hybrid of human and alien.
Tiara decided to keep the child. She acquired another ship and resumed her life. She was raising Abigail as a smuggler and partner. They had moderate success and for the most part life was good.
Tiara began to notice something odd about her daughter. Her reflexes were way above normal, and she had a knack for finding trouble and surviving against the odds. Tiara had always known her daughter had a fierce temper, but when she was eight, pirates once again boarded their ship. Her mother was terrified and the pirates could see it. Abigail was not terrified, she was furious. She knew that men like this had hurt her mother in the past, and so she lashed out at them.
The pirates never knew what hit them. One minute they were laughing at an enraged girl, and the next they were running in terror from an unstoppable force of death and destruction. Abigail had unconsciously tapped her raw Force potential, and in her rage she tapped the darkside as well.
The pirates had fled, but still her mother was terrified. Her fear wasn?t of her daughter, but for her. She had no idea what was going on, but it was something she knew she couldn?t cope with.
Tiara did the only thing she could think of. She handed Abigail over to the Jedi. She was, at age eight, considered to old to train by most Jedi, but a single Jedi Master, Master Qui-Gon Jinn, believed otherwise. Abigail would experience episodes of uncontrolled outbursts of power that endangered everyone around her. Master Jinn argued fervently that it was in the council?s best interest to train her to control her power, less she hurt someone on accident. After much debate it was decided that training was the best option.
Over the next decade she became an outstanding Padawan. She shared a strong bond with her Master, Master Frint, and they were frequently sent on dangerous missions together. Then tragedy struck. On a mission while trying to resolve a hostage situation Abigail?s Master was killed. In a rage, Abigail killed the terrorists responsible.
Her future as a Jedi Knight was now in jeopardy. The council was divided about what to do with her. In the end they allowed her to stay in the order. She passed her trials, and became a full Knight.
For a decade Abigail served the Jedi well. She even took her own Padawan, and for a while everything was as it should be. But when her Padawan was killed, Abigail once again touched the Darkside. With no more then a thought she crushed the killers he

Biography: born on Ossus, Kay didn?t lead a very normal lifestyle due to being force sensitive, he was taken by the Jedi at a young age. He was trained by famous master such as Odan-Urr, Vodo-Siosk Bass, and Ood Bnar. And even though he lived on Ossus along with his parents, he never visited them, in fact he had nearly forgotten about them.

He went through the years as an average student, not excelling to his fullest. He was actually picked last when selection came for padawans. If Kay had not been chosen by his new master Gideon Karn he would have been sent to work in the Jedi relief corps where padawans who were not selected went and were never able to be selected again. This surprised Karn?s superiors who thought it a bad choice, but Karn saw something in the young padawan that no one else saw, the same thing his master saw him when he was that age. He learned much under Master Karn and his grip on the force became stronger. Karn, being one of the best lightsaber wielders in the order, taught him how to use seven lightsaber forms more efficiently. He also taught him different forces powers and languages.
Finally the day had come when Kay was 22, that he would take the trials into Knighthood. He passed and was therefore promoted to the rank of Knight. He passed through the years and distinguished himself through selfless and honorable acts, becoming a favored Jedi among the high Jedi masters. When he was 27 he was promoted to the rank of master and given a seat on the council. This was uncommon that a man of only 27 became a Jedi master, but there was more to Kay then met the eye.

But before Kay was able to select and train a padawan, the Sith attack Ossus in the last major battle of the Great Sith War. With the massive supernova heading on a collision course for Ossus from the destruction of the Cron Cluster, the Jedi were hard pressed to evacuate everyone while also attempting to beat back the Sith. When the last of the personnel was being evacuated, the Sith broke through the lines, making a straight shot for the transports in hopes of destroying them. Through the ensuing chaos the last few Jedi had been killed, leaving only Kay between the transports and the approaching Sith army. Rather than evacuating with the others, Kay chose to stay and defend the transports that were clear and open targets for the Sith. He fought his way out of the courtyard of the enclave and onto the open plains, where he held out long enough for the transports to escape. He then continued to hold out for another hour before being overwhelmed and shot. He lay there slipping in and out of unconsciousness. He lay there until the Sith left the planet before the supernova hit. Only the force kept Kay alive long enough for

Biography: Qui-Gon was raised in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and like most Jedi, never knew his homeworld or parents. Trained by Count Dooku, he was idealistic in his youth, but became disillusioned with the Jedi way. He began to understand what his Master had been saying about the Jedi losing their way, yet he was not so radical as to abandon them in their time of need.

In time, he learned to draw on the Living Force, which is very different from the Unified Force most Jedi, cautioning one to live in the moment, rather than attempt to play with 'what if' scenarios. Sensing the future - to Qui-Gon - became tertiary before sensing the moment and doing the right thing. Too many Jedi relied on the Force for living their daily lives and Qui-Gon did not quite understand their standoffishness on the subject.

One day, Qui-Gon entered the Jedi Council chambers to find a little girl of about 8 being tested by the Council. They were skeptical, but Qui-Gon could feel the Living Force surging through her. He knew they would refuse to train the girl, and Qui-Gon currently had a padawan of his own. Instinctively, he sought out his old friend Master Frint to train the girl, knowing Frint would listen to his counsel that the child was special and worthy of being trained. After much argument in the Council, Frint accepted young Abigail as her padawan. Qui-Gon could have no idea how the events of the future would unfold for Frint and Abigail, for he disappeared only 3 years later, into a nightmarish place full of hostility...

OOC: The best thing about this game is that we can start without a lot of people.

    IC: Abigail
    Location: Ruins

Abigail?s eyes snapped open, and her body jerked into motion. She was instantly a few meters away from the position she had been in, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of hostiles. There were none.

She relaxed slightly, trying to figure out how much time had passed since she had dosed off. The clouds in the sky never let up, always they were a dark brown smear. She couldn?t tell if it was day or night. This had thrown her sense of time off. She knew she had been here for several days, maybe weeks, catching naps when she could and fighting off the ?Clickers?, feline alien predators that made a horrible ?Clicking? noise before they strike, when she was unfortunate enough to come across them.

Food was a problem. The ?Clickers? she had determined were unsuitable to eat, and she had not come across any other animals yet. So far she had been surviving off of a root, more like a tuber, that tasted like chalk but had all the characteristics of a high nutrient plant. It rained almost ninety percent of the time so water wasn?t a problem.

Abigail stretched working the kinks out of her back. The hard floor of these ruins made lousy beds but she didn?t dare sleep out in the open.

She unwrapped some of her chalk tubers, taking a few bites before replacing them in her belt pouch. Sounds of movement from outside caught her attention. She scrambled to a hole in the wall, looking out at the barren wasteland.
Her eyes caught sight of the origin of the sounds. There maybe twenty meters away was a man, a human from the looks of him, making his way across the rock strewn ground. She was about to call out when she heard it.

An awful clicking sound coming from the ruins to the man?s right. She saw it a Clicker, its black coat of fur slicked back, its yellow teeth visible even from the distance she was at.

It rose from its concealment, its ears pinned back to its head, and she knew it was about to spring. He was to far away for her to get there in time, and if she didn?t warn him she doubted he would see the attack until it was too late. She did the only thing she could. She screamed

    ?LOOK OUT!?

    LOOK OUT!

That is all Kay heard before he heard the clicking and smell of the fowl breath of whatever was approaching him, and fast. he quickly pulled his lightsaber from his belt and ignited it. The handle emitted a green blade which sliced through the animal with ease as Kay propelled himself into the air just above the animals head. swing his blade under him as he flipped over the animal, severing its head from it's neck. he landed lightly back onto his feet and quickly made a thorough scan of the area around him. his eyes then fell upon the entrance of a ruins where a young woman about Kay's age stood. Kay began to saunter towards the young woman. he hung his lightsaber hilt back upon his belt

"So i suppose a thanks is in order, miss...?" he asked in hopes of discovering the woman's name, but it didn't matter when they were introduced. it looked like they were stuck in the same nightmare, they would know each other eventually.

"So i suppose a thanks is in order, miss...?"

Abigail was a bit taken aback by his demeanor. Here they were, total strangers on an unforgiving planet with no way off and a mutilated corpse of what she could only classify as a monster, and he was being smug?

    ?Abigail.?

She motioned him inside the ruins.

?Get inside before you attract the whole pack.?

She pointed to the dead creature.

?That Clicker was a scout the rest are not far behind.?

She put the make shift barricade back up after he entered. It was flimsy, and probably wouldn?t hold long if a Clicker attacked it, but it was better then nothing.
Settling down herself she offered the man a chalk tuber.

?They?re pretty nasty tasting but its all there is.?

She regarded him for a minute before speaking again.

?So where are you from? Any idea where this is??

"Well i have eaten worse in my day," he said taking the root from her and biting into it. A look of disgust soon followed, those nasty things he had eaten in the past actually sounded like an exquisite meal compared to this. He looked over at her. When they first met he could see that she was taken back by his subtle and calm demeanor. he didn't mind though, if this was truly the afterlife then why not by a little happy, even though this was far from his idea of paradise.

?So where are you from? Any idea where this is??

"Where am i from? well now that you mention it i was caught up in the supernova on Ossus just before it was destroyed. And to answer your second question, i have no idea where here is, i speculated it was the afterlife, even though i doubt that there are feline type maneaters in the afterlife that the gods have provided for us, unless they aren't as kind as we make them out to be. he said with a slight smile that was soon wiped away by the distant howl of the "Clikers".

"Well we better settle in for the night. try to get the most rest we can, then maybe we can more thoroughly explore this place, whatever it is. i'll take first watch, you get some sleep."

Abigail almost choked on her tuber. He was still making jokes.

"Ossus, Right. Some how I doubt that your that 'Old'."

She looked up at him to see his face as a mask of seriousness. Reaching out with the Force she could feel him being honest.

"You can't be serious? The Ossus Supernova happened almost four thousand years ago!"

Her mind raced as she tried to figure out what was happening. She knew from the force that he was telling the truth, but there was no possible way for him to have survived that long.

"Well we better settle in for the night. try to get the most rest we can, then maybe we can more thoroughly explore this place, whatever it is. i'll take first watch, you get some sleep."

He was right She could figure this out later after a good sleep, something she hadn't experienced since she had gotten here.
She settled against the stone support column, relaxing her body and letting her mind drift into unconsciousness.

    burnt out ruin

A howling wind whipped through a crumbling ruin. Giant stone columns lay strewn about, cracked and broken amongst blackened, scorched earth. Darkness enshrouded the entire area, as if a gloom seeped from the very ground, coating everything in nothing.

Qui-Gon wandered out from the charred remains of a building. The Living Force seemed to draw in a breath and hover before him, like ghostly pale death. Everything was wrong somehow. His memory of the last twenty-four hours was hazy at best and he had no idea of how he'd gotten to this still and silent, but eerily alive place.

Trying to focus his mind on the now, he recalled seeing eleven year old Abigail's face only the last evening. He, Master Frint and the girl had been in the Room of a Thousand Fountains. Abigail had been staring at him again; even in the middle of his meditation he knew she was curious about something. "Yes, young Abi?" he'd admonished, not even opening his eyes "What can I help you with?" She'd turned away at that moment, feeling the stern countenance from her master beckoning her back to meditation.

After that, there were few clear memories. Qui-Gon only remembered sitting down on his bed, ready to remove his lightsaber, and then somehow being here. It was unsettling to say the least. The Force also seemed to be reeling, as if struck dumb upon the head, but his connection was still strong, for the moment.

A deafening roar shook the crumbling rock. Qui-Gon looked up to see treetops in the distance quivering then falling, as if some massive wave of cutter droids were felling them. The wave approached and suddenly an urging from the Force, and another feral howl, convinced him that it was time to leave this place, in the opposite direction.

Running as fast as he could, Qui-Gon could hear the rumbles of whatever was following him dying away. As he stepped beyond the edge of the woods, a barren wasteland - stark and empty - greeted his sight. "Strange," he wondered aloud, "such a contrast." He turned back to the green, thick forest, then back again to the vast emptiness of the terrain before him. A tug from the Force pulled his eyes toward a young, attractive, brown-haired girl in the distance. She appeared lost and bewildered as well, and he walked over to her. Bowing, he said, "Forgive me for being so forward, my name is Qui-Gon and I am wondering if you know any more about this place than I do? I've only just arrived and am quite lost."

Another loud screech echoed across the barren plains and Qui-Gon reached out with the Force, grasping the identity of a hostile flying creature approaching in the distance. It appeared not to have noticed the presence of two humans yet, but Qui-Gon was anxious to hear this lady's story and then find cover.

Padmé turned at the sound of the voice. "Forgive me for being so forward, my name is Qui-Gon and I am wondering if you know any more about this place than I do? I've only just arrived and am quite lost."

She couldn?t believe her eyes. The first thing that came to her mind pushed out of her mouth. ?Qui-Gon!? she rushed over to him and then got control of herself. ?I mean, Master Jinn.? Then it finally really hit her. ?But you?re dead!!? He?d died almost ten years ago, helping her drive the Trade Federation off Naboo.

But it really was him, a little younger perhaps, as if that were somehow possible. Forgetting etiquette, Padmé lept into his arms, almost not even hearing the loud screech in the distance. ?How!?? she demanded. ?Darth Maul killed you, or so we were told. And what?s that sound??

    Biography:
Keheen is a healer, and a minor cleric of her religion. As the middle daughter of a minor noble, she was afforded some freedoms, the greatest of which is travel. Her mother is a major religious leader for one of the larger temples in their homeland, but Keheen was not interested it going into the straight religious tribunal. She is force sensative, and that along with her knowledge of natural herbs and medicines helps her as a healer.

She loved to travel, to see different types of arts, to
experience things, not only from her own people, but from the many other humanoids that traveled throught their worlds. Had she not been steared towards the religious aspects, she probably would have been a great dancer, or perhaps an artist. She admired anyone who could do such things. But no, she had diffrent talents. When it was learned that she held a great 'gift' for healing, she was steared towards it, as very few of the major clerics had the ability. But she found that she enjoyed helping others, especially the small kits. But she still enjoyed traveling when she could get a chance. Being a middle daughter, she could afford to dissapear for small bits of time, without getting into trouble, and she took the time to do so whenever she could find it.

Kaheen was touring the outer planets of the Trianii
homeworld, and was on her way towards a religious retreat, travelling onboard a ship she had gotten passage on, for one of the Trianni outposts.

The ship had made a quick stop for a refuling layover, when Kaheen noticed something that caught her eye. A plant, once she had been looking for for ages. She simply could not pass it up. She left the ship, collecting the flower, and the next thing she knew, she now finds herself someplace totally unexpected.

Hey, have a character, it's been approved and all.

    [image=http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e7/nancyallen/Capture-06-19-00001.jpg]

    Name: Cameron Jameson Phoenix
    Gender: Female
    Age: 39
    Species: Human
    Homeworld: Onderan
Era: Cameron was a Jedi in the Old Republic, about 4005 years BBY.
    Personality
---Traits: Especially for a Jedi Cameron is very blunt and to the point, indeed brutally so. A lot of the time she rejects Jedi teachings in favor of real world lesson, only resorting to the code as a defensive mechanism. She also appears to have a permanent chip on her shoulder, even when she appears relaxed there is very much an undercurrent of tension and a badly masked aggressive, hostile and confrontational attitude.
---Likes: People find it hard to distinguish just what Cameron likes, though it is well known that she got along well with the Jedi Exile and was supportive of her joining Revan and Malek to fight the Mandalorians. She also very much loves people who are not only exceptionally talented but have a very clear plan for the future and what they want out of life, it doesn't matter who they are those who have mapped out their future she will support every single time.
---Dislikes: Cameron absolutely hates Jedi bigotry and pushes against it as much as the Order allows her. Seeing Jedi themselves become bigheaded compels her to strongly voice her opinion about them, but to see hatred of Jedi simply because of who they are has Cameron quick to use her lightsaber in a threatening manner.
    Appearance

    [image=http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e7/nancyallen/Capture-06-19-00004.jpg]

    ---Skin Color: Dark tan
    ---Hair Color: Light brown
    ---Eye Color: Green
    ---Clothing: Jedi robes
---Other Attributes: Cameron has scars all over her body as a result of years of combat, and resent ones in her head when she was attacked by anti Jedi extremists.
    ---Other Details:
    Weapons: Lightsaber
    The Force
---Sensitivity: 4. Cameron is a realist and believes in not restricting her Force powers to just those used by Jedi, she is perfectly happy for her and others in the Order to learn Sith techniques. She justifies this to her masters that even if so that they can know what the enemy is capable of it is necessary to learn. Because of her beliefs, or maybe in spite of them, Cameron has a relative lack of sensitivity to the Force.
---Religion: Jedi, and Cameron is an utter hypocrite about it. Not only does she resort to the code as a defense for her beliefs she even admits to being a Jedi simply because it gets to bigots who hate them.
    ---Lightsaber
-----Crystal(s): Cameron uses a blue crystal common to Jedi Guardians, despite the fact when she was a Padawan she was considered better apt as a Sentinal. How wrong her masters were. Apart from it's color there is little signifying her lightsaber crystal.
-----Blade(s): The blade appears more focused than that of a normal lightsaber, giving off a slightly lighter hue and giving the appearance of a wider, flatter edge. This may be because of the hilt.
-----Color(s): Cameron, more so than perhaps any Jedi of the Old Republic, signified the role of a Jedi Guardian, from the way she was quick to defend their beliefs and launch into battle to the lighter shade of blue her lightsaber gave off. The blade seemed to glow lighter and darker at the same time.
-----Handle Description(s): Cameron sought out a former Jedi turned Republic quartermaster for the construction of her lightsaber hilt. The finished article, something she paid good credits for, include the size of the handle itself and the activation switch being reduced; the switch being far easier to activate, the materials being of better quality than used in common lightsaber construction and borrowing the idea from firearms a safety preventing the Jedi weapon from igniting while it is switched on. The quality of the hilt seems to affect the color and style of the blade, the lens being originally for telescopic navigation and nuclear physics isotopes.
-----Lightsaber skill: 7. Cameron fights with a very unorthodox and agg

    Location: Ruins

The corridor was ominous, with its stark white walls and no windows. It stretched on ahead of her beyond her eye sight. She had been running for what seemed like forever. Only stopping to catch her breath, and never long enough for actual rest.

It was chasing her. What it was she didn't know, but she knew it was after her. It was a dark shapeless shadow that sucked in all the light. Even now she could see it behind her growing ever closer.

There is nothing she can do to stop it, she can only run.

Abigail blinked a couple of times trying to clear the grogginess from her eyes. The last vestige of her dream fading from her memory as reality came back into focus. She looked across the small hovel to find Kay looking out the window.

"How long was I out for?"

Getting the makeshift water skin she had made she took a drink. She looked out the "window" at the rubble. Nothing moved, not even the wind. But it wasn't what was there that grabbed her attention it was what wasn't there. The carcass of the Clicker that Kay had killed was gone.

    Barren plains....

Keheen slowly sat up looking around. She frowned, her fur standing on end. This place looked nothing like where she had last been. Well, not that she could remember clearly. She remembered a plant...and that was about all she could remember. She slowly stood up, sniffing the air around her. No, she did not recall this strange place.

Keheen turned slowly, as she sniffed the air, growling softly. She did not like this feeling of strangness she felt. She stopped, looking carefully in one direction. There was something else here. She could smell it. And she felt .... something. She could not put her finger on it. Well, one thing for certain, another thing she didnt like was the area she found herself in. So she began to move, hoping to find some sort of cover or shade or something perhaps that would tell her where she was. Perhaps with luck, she could find someone to explain to her how she had gotten here.

Keheen began to move at a swift clip, to locate whatever was nearby.

    Location: Ruins

After a short breakfast of nasty tubers, Abigail had decided she needed to get a better lay of the land. Kay stayed at the hovel for some reason or another said something about possible improvements to their defenses. He said he had it under control so she set out looking for anything that would help them or tell them what was going on.

After a few hours of walking, and not finding a kriffing thing, Abigail started back towards the ruins. That?s when she heard it.

It wasn?t the Clickers, this was more of a high pitched whistle, and it was coming from all around. She scrambled towards a large boulder, trying to get as much cover as possible. Her lightsaber was in her hand, but wasn?t lit.

The whistling was growing louder. She reached the boulder, couching against the side so that her back was covered. The whistling reached its apex, an earsplitting screech. Abigail saw it, the small rodent like creature that was running at high speed across the ground. Its ears looked like reeds and were the source of the sound.

It stopped in front of the boulder, looking at her with curiosity. Abigail let out the breath she had been holding. Smiling she pointed at the rodent.

?You almost gave me a heart attack, little one.?

Abigail was relieved that there was no danger. She was also delighted that there seemed to be other forms of life other then the hostile kind on this planet.

Suddenly its ears pinned back and it bared its small teeth. It scrambled backwards and took off running. Before Abigail could figure out what she did to frighten the poor thing, the back of her neck began to tingle. Her sense of danger through the Force was trying to warn her of something.

A rumbling started, deep and earth shaking, small pebbles on the ground started dancing. Abigail turned, and the boulder she was against started to move. It unfolded, sprouting jointed limbs.

Abigail ignited her lightsaber, its blade painting the rock monster in a pale blue hue. She slashed at the beast, leaving a meter long gash of scorched rock. The beast came at her anyway, not slowed by the wound in the slightest. A stone hand shot out towards her, and her blade intercepted it. The stone appendage dropped to the ground severed at the midpoint. The beast simply grew another arm to replace the one it lost.

She flipped backwards trying to gain space. She aimed a Force blast at the beast hoping to push it back further, but the blast deflected off of it and slammed into the ground leaving a meter sized crater of compressed dirt. Reaching out with the Force she grabbed any loose object, mostly stones, and hurled them at the creature as hard as she could. The creature finally started to react as stone began to chip.
Abigail grasped at the creature with the Force, but it felt like trying to hold onto ice and her grip would just slip off. She did notice however small places that her grip would catch on to.

The beast heaved itself at her, a mass of rock and dust. She rolled to the side, but was clipped by an arm that sent her spinning to the ground. She let out a sharp gasp of pain, her shoulder throbbed and her arm went numb.

The beast was regaining its footing preparing to come after her again. Abigail latched on to one of those small ?gaps? in the beast. She narrowed her mind, trying to wiggle through the gap to the inside. She started to pour as much energy through it as possible drawing on all the Force she could.

The beast stopped, and started to tremble. Cracks began to form, and heat radiated off of it like a thermal oven. Its stone body began to glow and smoke, melting from the inside out. Soon the beast was no more than a pool of liquid hot magma, and Abigail fell backwards to the ground gasping in pain and clutching her shoulder.

    barren plain

"How!?" she demanded. "Darth Maul killed you, or so we were told. And what's that sound?"

Clearly she knew him - the Living Force told him she was speaking the truth as she knew it and yet Qui-Gon had absolutely no recollection of who she was. Before he could answer, a shadow swallowed both of them up and a loud clicking sound filled their ears. The Force seemed to fizzle away all of a sudden - the harder Qui-Gon tried to grasp it, the further it went.

Igniting his lightsaber, he used a swim motion to get his arm behind this young woman and shift her back as a winged feline swooped down. A razor sharp claw passed within a millimeter of Qui's neck as he dodged. Without the Force, he nearly had his head removed. It was discomforting for the Master, but he recovered well, striking the beast in the wing as it tried to make another pass.

"There may be more here than meets the eye my young friend," Qui-Gon said as the monster breathed its last. He didn't want to admit just yet that the Force was flickering, as if it were coming from a great distance. He also had no intentions of admiting he didn't know this woman... yet. There was something greater at work here and the Force would eventually show him what it was... provided it came back to him. "We should seek shelter and nourishment."

There was a mountain in the distance in a different direction through the forest, than the way he had come. "May I suggest we move this way, as there may be fresh water springs near that mountain." Just as he spoke, the skies opened up in a terrible downpour. Qui-Gon raised his eyebrow in a quasi-comical manner. "Ask for water, and one receives it."

    IC: Kay Qel-Dramas

Kay had kept watch all night, not wanting to wake Abigail, she had probably been through a lot ,ore than he had since she had been before him, for how long he didn't know. She was good company on this dreary planet, because the indigenous fauna wasn't going to take a liking to you. But she kept having what seemed like a bad dream, she tossed around quite a bit, almost until she was rolling on the ground, then that's when Kay woke her up.

Earlier that morning Abi had gone out to scout around the area and see if she could find anything of interest. Kay felt that he should stay and ready the defenses of their makeshift fort in case any Clickers came back. As things stood right now their defenses couldn't keep out a Womp rat, but it would give them a few seconds to ready themselves. so Kay began with the door and started staking bricks around the large entrance in order to make it more narrow than before. then Kay continued by shoving bricks, stones, and dirt into the large gaps in the walls, giving this place only one entrance.

Kay thought about Abi because for a split second he felt a ripple in the force, Abi was in trouble. but before he could act a surging pain came over him, a unbearable and splitting pain that ran through his head. Kay fell to his knees clutching his head. He could feel the force drain from him, but as hard as he tried to hold onto it the more intense the pain became. The pain was soon so bad that Kay soon slipped into unconsciousness and fell to the floor. The only noise he heard was the wind blowing over the dirt landscape. is eyes were fixed on the door, but slowly they shut as Kay slipped into a deep trance. before he knew it everything was dark.

    Barren plains....

Keheen moved swiftly, her nose picking up several scent around her. She had no idea what most of them were, but she did pick up a very faint sensation, that there were people here as well. As to wether they were friendly or not, she would worry about later. She could at least watch them, and perhaps learn more about this strange place.

Soon, Keheen noticed something in the distance. There was a mountain, not so far away. She could be there soon enough, if she kept up her pace. She simply hoped that whatever sun this place circled stayed up long enough for her to reach the place. From there, she could scan the surrounding area, and perhaps find water there as well.

Just as she was moving across the plains, she suddenly lost the sensation of the beings she had felt. She stopped suddenly, sniffing around. It suddenly felt very wrong. With a renewed effort, she began to run now, her eyes and ears alert for any danger coming towards her. She thought she saw something in the air, off in the distance, but it dissapeared quickly.

Without warning, a sudden downpour opened up in the area. Keheen roared in furry. She HATED sudden downpours. She flipped her poncho up over he head, as she took off running once more. The rain brought stronger scents to her nose, but she would have to be careful, because she was not leaving tracks.

But she decided that reaching the mountain was more important, so she kept running. Keheen saw a flicker of green. Maybe there was a forest nearby? Or at least some trees. That would be good.

    Keheen continued to run.

    IC ? Padmé

Master Jinn seemed like he didn?t know her. It was odd, but before she could say anything, he shoved out of the way. A loud clicking noise and a flying cat! It almost cut the Jedi in the throat, but he mananged to chop it down.

"May I suggest we move this way, as there may be fresh water springs near that mountain." Just as he spoke, the skies opened up in a terrible downpour. Qui-Gon raised his eyebrow in a quasi-comical manner. "Ask for water, and one receives it."

Padmé giggled at his comment just as a swarm of those flying cats came into view, just above the treetops. Padmé pulled out her blaster and shot one down before running toward the trees for protection. ?Master Jinn, I think you?re right, we need to at least find some cover. Being out here with all these cats is dangerous!?

The rain came down like a flood, soaking Padmé?s clothes very quickly as she ran for cover. Once under the trees she saw what looked like a Triani coming toward them. ?Oh no, does she see those monsters?? Padmé asked as she took another shot that missed the nearest creature.

    Moving into the forest

As Keheen headed for the flicker of green she realized that it was a forest. Very strange land, she thought to herself, as she moved along the barren area, now making her way towards the tree line.

Suddenly there was movement again. Much more movement. It looked like a swarm of some strange creatures, converging on something. Then a sound came that Keheen recognized very well. Blaster fire. So there were people here! It sounded like someone or something was in trouble.

Whipping the rain from her eyes, Keheen began to run in earnest, her growls growing as she moved. Her eyes grew wide, as she caught a better look of things. Attacking two people on the ground, look like flying... Keheen did a double take. Felines? Keheen extended her claws. This was something ferel. Something she understood. She was wet, and misserable, and she would have no trouble taking out her frustrations on these things if they did not listen.

She did notice that while the woman was dressed in a way she did not recognize, the male was dressed as something she DID recognize...and was shocked to see. Perhaps he could offer some information.

Keheen increased her speed, and leaped, with a roar announcing her attentions to the flying things above. She was more than prepared to 'persuade' them to find another meal.

    edge of great forest

"Oh no, does she see those monsters?"

As Qui-Gon was about to answer his companion, the furry Trianii sprang into action.

Keheen increased her speed, and leaped, with a roar announcing her attentions to the flying things above. She was more than prepared to 'persuade' them to find another meal.

"I would say she does indeed," Qui-Gon answered. This was indeed a strange place; the hostile creatures were like nothing he had ever encountered before in the galaxy, but the sentients, they were familiar and non-threatening.

The Force was still distant and seemed as though it were pained - or strained - to reach him. Perhaps there was a great distance separating them, he pondered as his saber flashed to life. Leaping toward the Trianii, he side stepped her, cutting down a large feline that was closing from behind.

When the danger had passed, Qui-Gon said, "And what brings you to such a hostile place?" It had suddenly dawned on him that since he had no memory of arriving in this place, perhaps the others were the same.
