AOTC at IMAX

Hi folks,
Doug from Idaho Falls here. If I'm wrong on this, someone please correct me, but I understand that there is not an IMAX theater in Salt Lake. So, we here in Idaho Falls are looking into lobbying to get AOTC at the IMAX in West Yellowstone, MT (about 1.5 hours from here). I'd like to know if any of you (and if so, how many) would be interested in getting together on Nov 1 in West Yellowstone for a premiere of AOTC at the IMAX.

I'd rather go to Vegas, mostly cause I'm now 21 and I've never been. Even if we don't see AotC on IMAX, why can't we just do a Vegas trip?

 

I don't think I'd like to go.

I'm not 21 yet, and I need to save all the money I can for my mission.

But think of it this way, we can take what you've saved now and gamble it and probably make it grow more.

 

That's a great idea! i'll take my little goat self down to Vegas, compromise my morals in an attempt to earn more money to go on a mission for a church that would thoughly be upset by the means by which that money was obtained.

Or I could just leave it where it is.

I'd love to go but the logistics just don't work out. If you can come up with a good plan I may hop on the figurative band wagon and come along.

There's lots of stuff to do in Vegas besides strip joints and gambling, ya know, like *thinks* hmmm... nope, thats about it!

 

You can always walk the strip. That is alot of fun. My roomate and I did just that a couple of weeks ago and besides the 6 hour round trip it was a great 3hr walk.

 

In response to the first post on this topic, don't we have an IMAX at Jordan Commons?

I just found out that, no, we don't have an IMAX. The one at Jordan Commons doesn't count. Curses!

 

Yeah... that sucks. It's a large format screen, but not officially an Imax, so we can't get anything branded "Imax" on it.

I won't be in there with them Rob, I'm not really into female strippers.

 

Actually there are better things to do than strippers:

The fremont street experience for example

 

What is there to do on Freemont Street?

 

Isn't it some huge laser show or sumthin? Rob, how long has it been since you've been to Vegas? There are lots of free shows, shopping, mini amusement parks etc etc. Much more to do than just gamble and peep at scantily clad chickas. There is even a Star Trek museum full of fake props! Woot! And a cafe where Klingons come and comment on how disgusting it is that we (humans) eat our meat cooked.

 

Just so you all know- as cool as the whole IMAX thing may be, I hope everyone realizes that nearly 20 minutes of footage has been cut from the film... This is the biggest reason I don't think it's worth the effort. My only complaint about Epsiode 2 is that it ended! So why should I want to lose more? Just a thought, but I figured you all should know that little piece of info.

 

I know it cut alot of the sappy love parts, like the whole rolling in the meadow stuff.
