    hello

I begin the "ARC 170" because I need it model for my fanfilm. I use the WIP of Xizor like references.

Pretty good so far. There were several attempts at this last year. Most weren't finished due to difficulty modelling certain parts. I was gonna talk to a guy about one he made at SFM but it kinda has a game quality look to it and it's 100K polys though.

So far yours looks pretty good.

Again... be careful about your polycount. Maybe you should give us a # and a wire-frame.

That's probably too much, I can't even see a fully detailed and completed model being that much, but what you have is pretty good. Just try and lower the poly count a bit because it really shouldn't be that high.

I don't if I could lower the poly count sorry.

To animate this model a proxy (a mesh in very low poly) will be use. So the number of polygons is not really... important... except fot the render, of curse.

    Wow, man.

Good work, both on the model and the textures. My only crit is that I wouldn't use reflection on the cannons and the intakes, but other than that it's awesome.

Yea.. 300+ is a bit high... but not ridiculous. Plus... everytime you model something you'll get better and more efficient. I was just hoping maybe somebody would look at your wires and offer some suggestions. I'm not technical enough to help.

It's best looking potentially available ARC 170 out there. It just might be difficult to use in a large space battle. Have to be used just for close-up shots, composited in as a layer, and sometimes other people come along (IF the author doesn't mind) and reduces the polycount and submits it as a new version.
