So... Apparently, the website Omega Underground has "intercepted" an audition tape from British actor Adam Templar, apparently auditioning for the role of Thrawn. See HERE. So, have they launched a casting call for the Blue Sherlock? Color me skeptical. But who knows? (I didn't know this Mr. Templar before, but he does have a few credits.)
Maybe he's auditioning for the job of Audiobook Narrator for one of the Thrawn books - perhaps the upcoming Thrawn: Alliances. Or it's for the upcoming Resistance series because the previous guy is not available? Live action movie seems a bit less likely to me than the other two possibilities, but I wouldn't rule it out entirely.
My using "probably not" in the title was a little provocative, I'll grant you that. But you've got to admit there are reasons to be skeptical. How did they "come across" that video anyway? It comes a little bit out of the... blue. What seems more likely to me is that it's a clickbait website, and the actor shown in the video is trying to get himself known better.
I'm sure that Adam Templar just did this for his own fun and that Omega Underground is using it as clickbait.
If it's a genuine audition, my hypothesis is that it's an audition from several years ago for Rebels, and he's only feeling comfortable uploading it now that Rebels has concluded. EDIT: Or, umm, maybe for a fan film.
My favorite part of this whole story, clickbait, fanfilm, and all that aside is that the transcript has Thrawn say the word "okay." As if.
"Are they casting Thrawn?" Lord, I hope not. Leonard Nimoy's dead, and he will always be Thrawn to me. Even if it's just headcanon.
I just love how the thread title answers its own question, like, "What am I even doing posting this?"
@Havac Oh, you know, I was just passing time... @GrandAdmiralJello Yes, that "okay" struck me as weird too.
"Ten passably good photographs of places you'll probably never go, gussied up a bit with Photoshop. You'll be unsurprised by #8, because it's not appreciably different from #1-7. Or #9-10, for that matter."
