The small print: this thread is Mod-approved.
The OS has made episodes 1-25 available to all. Unlike the Cartoon Network site, you can view these 'small' (320x163) versions anywhere in the world.
These are not the Hyperspace versions. Here is the OS page for chapter 21. Now, the movies pop up in a window and stream down to you. You'll notice the 'Save as Quicktime Movie' has been disabled. But, if you right-click on the pop-up page (not the QT window) and select View Source, you can find the location of the files themselves. Once you have that, you can grab the file.

And before anyone asks, if you want a larger version - you'll have to either sign up for Hyperspace or wait for the DVD

How do you find the location of the files once you bring up the view source window?

 

In the 'source' page, it's towards the bottom and will start with http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/ and will end with .mov

If you like, go to Edit, Find, and enter "pdl.stream.aol" in the box. It should go straight to it.

Okay, once I finally bring up the movie after getting the address off the view source page, how do I download it? When I right click it isn't bringing up the download linked file as or anything like that.

Er, *cough*, yeah basically. We're talking about the free OS versions. They're not restricted content at all, they're just tricky to snag on your HDD.

Oh, and once you've got the address(es), you should be able to enter it into your browser's add-bar and the movie will load in the window. Then you can go to File and Save page as to get it.

Alternatively, you could use a Download Manager like GetRight.

Is it just me or are chapters 1-20 still hyperspace only??? ... Or did i misenterpret how to access them?

 

Blimey! Just went to check it out and it appears you're right!

I promise you that when I posted the article above, the pages for 1-20 did have download buttons on them. Guess they don't want you getting for free what you could buy on DVD eh?

You'd have to convert them to Mpeg2 files and author them to DVD. But to be honest, at the resolution they are, I wouldn't bother - they'll look awful through your TV.

Considering the time and effort vs. the output quality, you're going to find it's easier to wait til they come out officially. Which I should imagine will be this year anyhow.

a group of us were going to watch episode 1 and 2 and all the clone wars stuff before III....i guess we can crowd around the computer for the last 5 chapters, lol.

 

Are they going to make more Clone Wars?

 

Rumor says that they are making something along these lines for an animated post EIII thing.

 

Yes there is going to be the Clone Wars 3D Animated Series coming out in Fall 2007. There is also the upcoming Star Wars Live Action TV Series starring minor characters form the movies and probably brand new characters also.

Thank you so much for sharing the links for the rest of the Clone Wars. I did not get to see it before and I just finished watching it. All I can say is that it is wonderful.

I can't wait for this one to come out on DVD.
