X. Got that Hypno as a Drowzee through GTS for an Abra (my lone Psychic Safari had none). I've since bred him for an Insomnia Drowzee.

 

Is it possible to write a sentence with more words that I have to Google? Hypno, Drowzee, GTS, Abra, Lone Psychic Safari, and Insomnia Drowzee...

I could try!

It's just Pokemon talk. GTS is Global Trade Station, Psychic Safari just refers to one of my Friend Safaris, which happens to have Psychic type Pokemon. Abra is a Psychic type Pokemon (I breed them, so I have lots!), Drowzee is a previous evolution (form) of Hypno. Insomnia is an Ability. It prevents sleep, which is a status effect. My Hypno has Forewarn, which tells me what the opposing Pokemon's strongest move is. I had to breed for the other Ability.

And Pokemon-Amie (referred to as Amie) is an in-game app where you can play with your Pokemon. You can pet them, feed them, and play games. It allows you to raise their affection level, which has lots of nice bonuses during in-game battles. Pokemon with maxed affection have higher evasion, higher critical hits, higher endurance (toughening out a one-hit KO with one HP), and can shake off status effects.

 

I have heard of Pokemon. It is a kids' cartoon, right? I have never watched an episode so I wouldn't know the names of the characters.

 

Jedi_Lover In terms of franchises, it's basically the Japanese equivalent of, say, Transformers. There's a show that is nominally the main point of it all, but in reality it's just the spider that spins a great web of merchandising and ways for your kids to try and get you to part with your hard-earned money.
