Chewbacca your hero...My hero.

Are you a fan of Chewbacca?I am, anyone can love that...That...Um...Walking Carpet!

 

His sharpshooting in ROTJ was unparalleled. He's cool in my book.

 

Yep, he was cool. Then he got squished by a moon.

 

He's cool. Maybe not my hero, but he's cool.

 

He's not cool at all ... But he is heroic.
Chewie and Widget were not cool though.
When he lost that weird chess game I first noticed what a jerk he was, and finally when he shared that "ET" moment with Jedi Master Yoda when he flew away in some rocket I saw some corny humanity in our fave wookie. And when he bit the big one by letting everyone escape to provide rear guard I saw a hero (or maybe just I wookie paying off his freakin' life debt)

Overall, Chewbacca is a complex character - and many fans like myself have always had a love/hate relationship with him

 

When Chewbacca died in VP, I was stunned. I sat there for a few minutes contemplating whether that actually happened or not. How could they do that? He was amazing. No one will ever grunt as he did. Definitely one of my favorites.

 

Chewbaca rules all!

I love Chewbacca, how could anyone not love a giant teddy bear who is also heroic and brave?Loyal much, granting a life debt to Han Solo...

He's a chiller, you can see it with his badass but laid back attitude. Plus grunts and growls = hardcore speech.

It's sorta sad that he's supposed to be Han's best friend yet they portray him like a family dog.

 

family dog, oaf, bodyguard, etc .....

These terms are indicative of the fact that Chewie is loved,

but I need some more evidence to buttress the assertion made in the title of this thread.

 

I probably wouldn't even like Star Wars if Chewbacca wasn't in it.

Actually, I'd probably still like ROTJ because of Leia getting down and dirty in that bikini. I guess I'm a Star Wars fan for life now.

 

The New Jedi Order does not exist to me.

Actually, I remember once upon a time a poll at TFN asking how Han and Chewie should die. One of the options was they should never die, another was they should die of old age, and a third was they should be blown up along with the Falcon in the midst of doing something ground-shakingly heroic. Pretty sure that last was the winning option.

 

I still wanna know all the dialouge Peter Mayhew used on set before the "gronks" were added...

 

Yeah I know. I've heard some of it, and it was completely different to what I was thinking he was saying. Kinda changed the perspective on the dialogue.

 

"That old man's mad" in a British accent...
