    Hey everyone,
Haven't posted a topic for a while just been working on second film.

I have a shot were it's in a darkened room but the area that I'm focusing on has alot of light. I want to make the color look alittle better but most of the things I do in After Effect are making the shadows get grainy. It's not grainy before I tweak the colors or shadows? Any tips or ideas and/or suggestions?
    thanks

you could try a grain remover/reducer plugin, they actually get rid of alot of grain, and dont damage the footage either.

Thats AE's built in Color correct for you.

Check out synthentic aperature's color finesse. Great plug in.

But yeah, try the grain remover.

Yes, use Color finesse. It has better algorithms than the standard AE filters and doesn't degrade your footage that fast.
But if you're working with DV the degradation is greater anyway due to the heavy compression.

    Finesse does work pretty well.
