This should be interesting to watch when it does come on. Think of it, an American cricket team! What could be more laughable? (And I know one DOES exist)

Too bad it's too late for the likes of the Waughs and Warney. :(

What do you think it will do for the sport?

The US cricket team has played at the World Cup before.

I'm not sure if we'd actually ever see it at an Olympics for a while, unless one was held in India. Most likely would be Twenty20 games as well, as they're over the fastest.

With the Olympics only lasting for two weeks, and with facilities (especially in non-cricket playing nations) being restricted, the ideal would be to fit as many games as possible into that time. The 98 commonwealth games in KL had Cricket (and I believe the 2010? games in India will also have it), and they managed to play them as 50 over games. Cricket could go the way of Rugby and have 7's games (I know there have been tournaments in the past), which would drastically reduce the time needed to play a game.

Haha, cricket at the Olympics would be interesting.

I agree with Kypt, when/if it does become part of the program it would be Twenty20 matches. I think it should be Twenty20, too ? they are excitingly quick games and are the type of matches that could draw anybody in. That way, at the Olympics, where sporting fans reside, the cricket stands won't just be filled with cricket enthusiasts ... many people would join.

One thing about Cricket though is the weather, and England being England (I assume that's where they are firts going to have it) there could be some very interesting results. I know they do some sort of calculation when the game is rained out, imagine the effect of this on uninformed sports commentators.

And you never know, we could see countries really step up for this.

Cricket at the olympics will be in the form of Twenty20 the ICC has said.
