ST Daisy Ridley (Rey) in Episode VII

and it's crazy how much she reminds me of Kiera Knightley ( spelling?)

 

Sorry if asked before. Why do you think Rey is the only one with capital writing on those cards?

 

That's the first time I've noticed that! My God her name's an acronym! Let the conspiracy theories commence.

Hmmm. There are other cards with Rey without capitals. I don't really know what to think.

Meh u can sugar coat it all u want with hyperbole but the posters point is still valid, the gap between Ridley and the rest of the new cast even if you just compare to Boyega (same age) is considerable. Scrawl and a Few TV Appearances doesnt really compare to actual movies or shows on the level of Game of Thrones for instance. However, on the flipside you are not going to bet Star Wars on a bad actress so while those appearances dont convince me (plenty of actors have failed the transition), I am convinced JJ, KK, and Disney arent risking Star Wars on a bad actress.

And I'm hoping for a trailer as much as you are EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'LL BE IN IT while you wait there's so much incredible cinema out and on the way; I saw Sicario a couple nights ago which was SO TENSE and brilliant (though not for children!!!) Macbeth, Carol, Suffragette, the list goes on of things I'm hoping to see soon. Anyone seen any good films lately that you can recommend?

Daisy's got great taste in cinema. Sicario is my favorite film of the year so far and Macbeth looks incredible too!

 

Going off topic for just a sec, I can't wait to see what Sicario director Denis Villenueve does with the Blade Runner sequel.

 

Damn, I was hoping for a trailer description from Daisy! Would have been something for MSW to chew on!

 

The reason *a few* of these "worrying about Daisy" posts pop up is because a few posters *seem* to feel that John is being questioned, while Daisy *seems* universally lauded. Some of those posters, along with a few others, also feel some webcasters/posters are downplaying John's role - suggesting he is not the star, or even co-star, but just a mere sidekick to "Mary Sue" Rey who can "do anything."

I emphasize this is only some posters, and in a few cases, they can actually point to posts that give them that impression, and they're worried that John is being set up to be up only to be downplayed.

Even worse in their opinion, is that no one seems to question Daisy's role or credentials.

 

I want her to say, "My powers have doubled since the last time we met, Ren!" by the third movie in the ST.
