Speculation Darth Vader (Spencer Wilding/James Earl Jones) anthology film(s?)

Main page listed it as a rumor. Presumably it would be Vader in his prime so that we could see plenty more of this.

 

Disney head honchos are probably realizing Vader in a black outfit equals big box office.

There is no one who makes murder more fun to watch than Darth Vader.

Give us a John Wick-style film with Vader and an individual on-screen kill count over 75 along with some one-liners, please.

 

Like the end of RO but 2 hours.

 

The way the rumour is presented is ludicrous.

 

But (name removed) didn’t realize he was there!

 

This is not a credible rumor...

 

To quote the meme of the man himself, DO NOT WANT.

The PT itself as well as the inclusion of the character in Rebels (which worked for me), the R1 reshoots (which to my mind detracted from the film) as well as the fact that Vader gets his own comic book, and is constantly used in merchandising, despite the fact that there's really nothing more to say about the character... it points to this weird misguided idea that Vader is the only good idea Star Wars ever had, and when things go wrong, he's the only fallback. That's become really really boring. I like the comics, but keep him off our screens for the foreseeable future...

 

Vader vs Maul lightsaber duel = Not Boring.

 

JEJ is not young, once he's gone that should be the end of Vader anywhere but in comics & games.
He's had his time, not his fault if the villains that followed him aren't as good.

Maul Vs Vader would be OK if the build up was good.
Vader would easily win, but seeing Ray Park again would be exciting

 

I will watch a Vader movie a minimum of 100 times, no joke. This movie most likely will capture the attention of governments around the world as an alternative way to print money (which is illegal). I need this in my life forever!

 

I don't believe the rumour and I don't think we need a Vader film - I don't know what it would add to his story. Would I go and see it? Absolutely!!!

 

And that's why it'll be made

 

I didn't read the rumor, but I always assumed a prime Vader spinoff was always a matter of when, not if. It's too good a cash cow idea to pass up.

 

A Jedi Purge movie would be great.
But it's the kind of idea that maybe works better on TV.

Slow build, Vader appears occasionally. Jedi get picked off, maybe a big final stand.

There would have to be a defeatable antagonist also, like Krennic in Rogue One, since Vader can't die.

 

Vader vs Maul lightsaber duel = video game, not story.

No history between them.
No stakes, beyond the obvious surface ones.
Outcome for both is known.
No reason for me to care about outcome.

Boring. With a capital B.

And enough Vader already. Disney-LF spams him into everything. I already know everything I need to know about that guy. Same goes for Maul.

 

I hope this movie gets made! And I do hope it's Hayden (I hope there are at least a couple unmasking scenes, medical or otherwise) Sure, he'd be scarred up and all but it would be nice to see a familiar face.

Seems like a smart business decision tho. Especially if they have a Maul vs Vader fight in it. Imagine that marketing campaign

That was my least favorite part of Rogue One. I think I'll take Mos Eisley before a whole film of Vader mowing down enemies.

 

Vader will never be a protagonist in a SW film, IMO.

 

I don't think Maul is that popular.

He's cool, but most people have never seen TCW or Rebels so to them he's simply a cameo in one of the worst Star Wars movies.
He never had any development.

 

Vader is my favorite character, so I’m never going to say no to more.

 

Really does read like an April Fool's prank that they forgot to post.
