Jeff will be meeting with them soon to go over the SW Exp area soon. If you volunteer, you could get discounted tickets, things are being ironed out as I type.

So I'm looking at items to purchase for the table or activity we will be doing. Not sure how many items we want or how many we had last year and of course what we thin the budget would be for this but here's some things I'm finding.
    http://www.orientaltrading.com/star-wars-clone-wars-stickers-a2-9_1065.fltr 100 stickers for 3.49

Other items I think might work okay, Target has bags of bracelets, boxes of bubbles for V-Day and if anyone ones to keep an eye on them for when they go on clearance they would be a good deal.

What do you guys think about candy, bubbles and balloons? We could get an helium tank to fill balloons? Miniature candy bars and we can put our own RMFF logo sticker on them. Bubbles we could also wrap in a sticker w/ our logo and website info, just not sure about the mess.

I'm finding some stuff on ebay. I wouldn't mind donating $20 towards the cause to get 10 of these:

    And a few of these:

    Star Wars Angry Birds:

    And more SW Angry Birds:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/40-Angry-Bi...151173?pt=Birthday_Favors&hash=item258f0358c5

And whatever these are (looks like fun!):

Let me know if I'm on the right track and if you guys want me to order any of these. I found quite a bit of other stuff on ebay, but were a little pricier. I searched under Star Wars party favors. I could search under something else and see what I can find, but I think this is a good start.

Looks like the stickers are discontinued. I like the party packs. Bubbles might be asking for trouble. Mini candy bars with our logo might be cool.

Love the stickers, rings and buttons! I don't know if Angry Birds are still cool or not.

They'd probably be fine, but do you want to hear them all day?

The stickers went down to $2.11 (10% sale on her ebay store, cheapest anywhere), so I went ahead and ordered 10 sets. I also ordered two sets of the buttons. I'm waiting for a new invoice for 10 sets of the Vader/Yoda rings since I asked for combined shipping. I think that's a good start, but after spending over $600 today for AL's new plug-n-play electronics I can't afford to buy anything more for a couple months. If we need more stickers/rings/buttons I could order some more later (when I have some more moolah) since there seems to be plenty of these on various ebay stores.

No, but I think they would just make a sound like rolling up a paper bag, and not a loud annoying new years eve sound. Good value to fill up the convention box though.

For the most part I think .20 cents per item, when we are looking for thousands, is about as high as we want to go. Of course some can be less and some will be more, but when buying for the masses... If someone wants to complain about how stupid it is, take it away from them [face_devil]

I also think eBay not be the best location to look for things, unless they are a regular store, because we will never get approval to buy something before the auction is up or the posting goes away.

Also thought of a few things we could make as a group. Votive holders modge podge with comic book pages, I forgot the other items but the glass votives are $9 for 16 and with a 50% or 40% off coupon that would be just around .25 cents each. Could be a nice touch, granted we couldn't make hundreds of them but it could be a special giveaway?

JJ, those stickers were the same ones form Oriental Trader that were $3.49 for 100 but were sold out within an hour of me posting it :(

My next question is, does everything need to be SW? Can we get Super Heroes, Frozen, and other geeky kind of things?

IMHO, let's try and stick with Star Wars related items since that's who we are. Most giveaways will be done at Starfest and Denver Comic Con, so the best way to distinguish ourselves is to give out SW items.

We started the giveaway buying committee to buy stuff, so I think y'all should just have a budget and then get stuff. It's up to y'all to decide what to buy and I don't think you need approval for each product. Just get what you want and I'm sure they'll be fine. We trust y'all's judgement.

And, keep in mind that there's three level/divisions of giveaways with the Death Star Prize wheel, so if you can three types of prizes or dollar level of prizes, that would be great.

And since this conversation has become the committee's place to discuss giveaways, I'm going to rename the thread so it reflects the discussion.

Thanks for letting me know items were purchased. I did pick some tattoos and stickers up but I can use them on the RL table.
I can't wait to see what JJ got for a $112 to be enough to cover 2 of our biggest events that's amazing. I think we spent 2 to 3x's that much last year for DCC alone and ran out of stuff and had nothing on Sunday.

I'm getting excited for event time!!!!
