ST Did Ryan Johnson basically troll us with what he did with Snoke?

    They build up Snoke like the next Palpatine in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi Trailers, making so many fan theories in the base, only to kill him off with no explanation to what he is

    Could that be trolling on Johnson's part?

    No. JJ introduced Snoke as the new big bad but he never telegraphed anything in TFA that Snoke was anyone significant other than a strong force user. We don't need to know more about Snoke. Like Rey, he's a nobody. People are bitter over the fact that their theories are moot and are still feeling the entitlement for backstories because of what the prequels and the Legends EU provided to the OT.

    I didn't have any theories about Snoke, but I still think his death in this film is a waste of an interesting character.

    But he was significant, how and why is he in charge of the First Order?

    If you say it doesn't matter, why should I care about him or the FO?
