ST Episode VII Casting: It's Not Over Yet! Who they might be and who they might play

I think that the "making of" book of E7 will have a lot of interesting bits regarding the Ardnt draft.....including the possible casting of that story...

 

The cast is more or less the same roles than the leaked and confirmed cast we saw back in June. Patel is close in age to Boyega, and LFL seems to want a non-caucasian lead in the trio. Cumberbacht has almost the same age than Isaac, and fits quite well into the military and fit male.

 

could be ...or not....Cumberbatch and Isaac are different kind of actors.....so are Patel and Boyega .....I don't think that Patel could have led the ST the way Boyega will........as you can see in Attack of the Block......Boyega could be THE Jedi that we all dreamt about when we were young......

 

He's talking about this casting call:
YOUNG MAN] Early 20s. Handsome, but not necessarily heroic. He is witty and smart. Physically fit. Boyega (22) Patel (24)
[MAN] Late 20s. Physically fit, handsome and confident. Gleeson (30)
[YOUNG WOMAN] Late teens. Physically fit, raw energy, independent and with a great sense of humor. Ridley

 

That is probably the reason he got the part instead of Patel. I think it is a good decision. But I don´t see any other confirmed cast actors that has any resemblance with Patel. The other males are too old to be up for the same role.

 

Unless of course Ridley is the lead.

 

Well glad we dont how Cumberbatch...he was not good as Khan. Besides I believe in keeping major scifi franchises separate.

 

Well...In that description call....I see Patel playing the Gleeson role...

There is no co-leads, this is not Kirk-Spock, there are 3 main characters.

 

well....I'm not 100% sure that Gleeson is playing a Skywalker....so if he's playing another character....you could switch Patel for Gleeson easily.....depending on the character...he could play a non-human character for all we know...

Replace "Boyega" with "Mark Hamill" and "could be" with "was" and yes.

 

I meant a Jedi in his prime....I'm a big fan of Mark Hamill....and Luke as well....grow up with him.. and the ROTJ Sail barge scene is still the most propulsive jedi action scene that I've ever seen.....

I'm also optimist and I'm pretty sure that the ST could deliver big time in that regard....drama should be the focus...but when the action starts....I wanna see a Jedi doing things I've never seen.......

 

I think we kind of keep forgetting that there are spin-offs to be cast as well, and that some announcements might start coming in on that front too.

For extras, I don't care if Zac Efron is in it. Nor Megan Fox (who I don't think can act, but HOT) or Elisha Cuthbert

I mean, if they are just extras I DON'T care

 

I expect that BDW will be in this film if only as a small cameo.

I haven't ruled out Cumberbatch and Ephron to be in the film even if small roles. It was interesting to me that Cumberbatch said in the recent interview that he was not in VII but he said nothing about not being in the trilogy. I remember that he was rumoured to have a developing role into VIII. As for Ephron he could have been put up by Disney as a red herring. I wouldn't have any issues with him being in the film. I understand he has baggage from Disney films but I haven't watched anything apart from a body swap film with Matthew Perry.

I expect another main role for a girl and would want a girl as a villain. I think it would be interesting if Daisy turned to the dark side.

 

I don't understand this whole "turning to the darkside" stuff. Its already a bit played out. I don't want to see people turning evil for the sake of turning evil. I want to see bad people become worse people. Having a skywalker/solo kid turn to the dark side is too cliche and boring.

 

I would not mind some asajj ventress!! I've always felt she'd work well in one of the episodes...
