I was at a used bookstore today when I saw this nice hardcover volume in the clearance bin. It's a collection of writing extracts from over a hundred black thinkers throughout American history. $1.50 for a book with a list price of $30? I couldn't pass that up. Anyway, check out what I discovered when I got home.

Okay, so this hardly qualifies as finding a mint copy of Action Comics #1, but within the context of my dull life, I thought it was pretty darn cool.

    Anyone got any similar stories?

(Also, shame on "Donna" for giving away this copy for a quarter of the list priced in store credit!)

I randomly found a VHS set of the '95 release of the O-OT* (man I hate that goddamn acronym) in February of 2001 at a Walmart.

*Yeah, yeah we don't discuss Star Wars the JCC, something something.

I once saw a copy of the Atari 2600 E.T. game at a local Goodwill.

Some people once saw a copy of the Atari 2600 E.T. game at their local landfill.

Picked one of these up at a local garage sale for $1 back in 2009.

Both cool and rare. I don't like medium rare.

Is that what Malcolm McDowell is holding there in your avatar? It's definitely a flashlight of some sort.
