Face in mirror effect??

This is not for a fanfilm per se but for a horror movie. The hero finishes looking in a mirror and as he walks away, the mirror turns black and a ghostly face comes up from the blackness and turns to towards him inside the mirror. As anyone tried an effect like this before, and if so what was the process. I have both premiere and after effects at my disposal. Thanks in advance.

 

I'd think it'd be pretty simple, just a little bit of masking. You'd have to shoot the 'ghostly face' stuff, obviously, but that's all it'd take.

 

Yeah it'll all edpend on how complex you want the scene to be...Camera movements and all that shiraz.

 

Well, even then it's still fairly simple--a mirror's a 2D plane, so you can mess with it in AE all you want.
