I think the people I work for are trying to drive me nuts. I'm supposed to travel home next week, I have a ticket, I'm even mostly packed, and they tell me on a Friday at 3:45 pm that they're extending my contract for three weeks (that's after already extending it for a month, then for a week). #nuts

Let's hope they don't try to hire you permanently. I don't reckon you could handle the #easylife of old Paris... ;)

Actually, they did say something about a permanent job. If they come back to me with a proper offer, I'll have to think about it carefully. Parisian life I can handle, but paying rent here and not killing my employers is a different story...

It would be a life-altering decision, that's for sure. Still, I think you could handle it...and to be honest, given how you've described your "regular" job and the continuing crises, it might be the only way to go to ensure you get to retire with your health/sanity intact... 8-}[face_shrug][face_beatup]

Plus you would have to deal with me wanting to come visit you :p (I kid - for some reason, France just not high on my "to travel" list, though if I knew someone living there, I'd totally stop over for a day on some crazy European adventure).

In other news, me doing a 3 week class after spending a week at bible camp, right after exams was not my brightest idea. It's a fun class, but I have two assignments due Monday and I am just so very brain dead. I just want to sleep in the sun with mah kitty.

In other news, I put in an application at my local hobby store, which given the fact that the last one is several years old at least, is probably a good idea if the eventual goal is to actually get a position there. The old hands there all know me, and know what I know and can do, so hopefully if/when a position does open up, well there you go.

    "Achievement Unlocked: Fantasy Job"? :D

Ack! It is Friday the 13th and I got a letter in the mail for Jury duty and the weatherman said to expect snow this weekend! ACK! I am hoping to not be chosen for Jury Duty because I am a full time college student. I asked to be deferred until the summer break. The questionnaire had some very specific questions about certain crimes or situations and my family has been victimized by these specific types of crimes. So maybe they will think I can't be unbiased. I don't mind serving once I graduate. :(

HA! I don't know if I posted this here, but I did get out of my jury duty for medical reasons. But, from just going through that process, full time students automatically get out of it (here at least).

I've got a couple dates in my near future. :)

Jury Duty . . . [face_plain] never have had Jury Duty. Bryg did and I think I know one of the cases she sat in for. Snow is in the forecast in the mountains here Monday or something like that.

I've never had jury duty and I've always wanted it. But I want something good, a big federal case.

Chyn - Ugh, that's frustrating when they move your date to go home. :(

I was watching this and asked Cookie if she could hear the birdy and boy did she get mad at me! She yelled quite loudly and flew over to the window.

Gamiel - If it tells you I quoted you, it was because I accidently did when I meant to just quote EP. Sorry!

Ugh. I need to pay the gas bill but my roommates have yet to pay me the rent. They keep forgetting (to be fair, we were all camping the first week of the month) and I don't like nagging people about money. It's awkward.

Anyways. I saw this and felt like it was so very relate-able, for me at least (minus the deadline part).

I'm not going to get a lot of fanfic writing done this month and it makes me sad :(

I haven't had a lick of spare time to write in the past several weeks in either of my works. Work is peaking up because it's heading into the summer months, we've already launched Dollar Drinks and it's picking up a lot quicker than we've expected. And then I leave for camp in five weeks and my writing time will be very limited.

TrakNar - You mentioned gemsonas before. What are they, exactly?

Chyntuck - I am going to sound more Greek than a Greek, but which one pays off more? Which option is less stressful?

    Lady_Misty - Niiice! :)

Briannakin - Third item from that list is getting me right now, so I...choose to be irresponsible and come up with excuses for work. I do not recommend this to anybody!

JadeLotus - it's always at 21.00 (9PM) Central European Standard Time. Right now, that's UTC+2.

mavjade - Eeek! I'm sorry about that. :( Agi had the same reaction when I first put some Disco the Parakeet on. Now he loves both Disco and Gotcha the Cockatoo.

That said...Gotcha is required material for every bird lover.

When he says It's a boy thing in response to What are you doing?, I cry from laughter.

This one is evergreen. And he still makes more sense than some of my clients.

Ewok Poet Gemsonas are Gem OCs. Many of the main characters in Steven Universe are Gems; alien space rocks with humanoid features (the body being more or less a solid hologram; damage to the body causes the Gem to "poof" and revert back to its gemstone state until it heals). All canon Gems are female.

Most Gemsonas are female Gem characters, each Gem named for their representative mineral/gemstone. In the Gem hierarchy, Diamonds are the leaders, while Pearls hold the lowest ranks as servants, and Peridots only slightly above that rank, with other Gems in between. Quartz Gems hold higher positions of authority, but are still lower than Diamonds.

If they're going by rarity, then one would think that Rubies would be higher. Then again, it's been possible for decades to make perfect fake rubies (meaning they're indistinguishable from real gem-quality ones) while we've still got a ways to go for fake diamonds.

Ugh. I'm kinda considering doing something stupid. As fun as my mohawk was, I have been getting tired of the upkeep so I haven't buzzed it since before Christmas. I've been just combing the sides over, but now the sides are getting kinda long and REALLY CURLY (I think shaving them completely down and totally getting rid of all the damaged hair really revitalized my crazy curls). Needless to say, even combing the long stuff over, I'm starting to look scary. So I am currently contemplating just cutting it all off and dealing with the hideousness of me in short hair for a few months.

My mother and I will be discussing it over sushi tomorrow. She doesn't want me to do it, which means I'm probably going to do it :p

Not really. I think I would try to match the sides of my head and the hair there is getting close to 5-7 cms long, so REALLY SHORT, but not exactly bald. Not that I don't mind the idea of going bald, but it would probably look REALLY BAD on me because my head is a funny shape.

Ewok Poet The job in Paris would obviously be better paid and less stressful work-wise, but a lot of the extra salary (if not all of it) would vanish instantly in the cost of living in Paris and travelling home regularly to visit the Chyns, since I can't move the whole tribe here. There's also the minor issue of Mr Chyntuckopoulos not speaking French and having a good job in Athens, and that's not to mention the 300+ days of sunshine per year back home :p

Briannakin 5-7 cm isn't that short! Just make sure you get a good hairdresser, and I'm sure it'll be really nice.
