Tantive IV was the official vessel of Heir to the Throne of Alderaan, from the House Organa, Prince Bail Organa & a former senator to the Republic Senate for the people of Alderaan. In use at the time by his adopted daughter, Senator Leia Organa. However, her mission was diplomatic only in appearance. She had received information from the Bothan engineers involved and was asked by her father to find his old friend OWK while enroute to Alderaan. So, technically she was going to Alderaan after she made a quick stop on Tatooine.
