He needs his protekshuns
Freedomz are expanding by the day.
We now have the freedom to get shot while getting our cars washed.
But, America is a great country, it really is. Lucky and blessed. So lucky. And it can be fixed. It's worth fixing.
Two mass shootings in about a week and it's buried in the headlines just like the victims of the shootings, people America doesn't care about.
Elon Musk is now selling flamethrowers.
That’ll end well.
It's just no longer news (unless it's a great number of people, or an unusual place, like with the Vegas shooting).
Maybe it's a good thing. Potential shooters will see it's no longer the way to get attention.
yeah, can't do anything about guns. maybe completely ignoring the problem will solve it.
That's not what I said.
Yes. Yes it's a good thing that you're so innundated with mass shootings that people don't care as much. And shooters, being rational, will see this and go "**** it, nobody cares as much, I'm going to go troll the comments section of popular YouTube videos instead."
Colo would be proud of this post.
Experts always say we give too much media attention because American media would treat it as Breaking News 24/7 for a week or two. I'm not saying don't report it, and we're obviously still reporting it. But not treating it like a 24/7 Breaking News story means less media attention, and fewer copycats.
"Oh, this isn't going to make the news? Man, probably shouldn't shoot up the office today. Wait until the news schedule is light"
And being as how other countries do not have mass media, that's the key. Though the reason it's not covered as much is not in reaction to public apathy thanks to the combination of a broken state and uninspired choice of elected officials; but rather, a proactive strategy of disengagement that will strike the - pardon the pun - fatal blow against mass shootings.
I know...I’ll set some people on fire instead. Mmmm...barbecue!
I'm ****ing crying lol that picture
So is @Ghost, from a broken heart.
Ghost, reporting on an incident and drawing attention to a mass murderer are two different things. It’s possible to do one without the other. But regardless, the root cause is still just too many guns and easy access to them.
Just another Saturday night in 'Murica.
Another school shooting, this time in Florida (watching breaking coverage on HLN)
Reports up to 50 are injured.
HLN is sticking to 20 injured.
It's entirely possible not all of those are from gunshot wounds. Some of those could be as a result of injuries received during the possible initial stampede of students rushing to escape the initial gunfire.
Their stating the shooter is still in the building.
This is what Jesus intended when he sat down to write the Constitution.
oh, it's wednesday in america.
hope they catch the gunman and those kids are okay. i'm itching for another national conversation about mental health.
Supposedly he has been caught and arrested. Some reports suggested the shooter was on YouTube and forums last night, stating he was going to do this.
I have the biggest stiffy for Freedom right now.
Makes me so sad to be in a country with free health care and no gun epidemics.
How are you coping in the UK, Danna? Your lack of mass shootings and the availability of free health care must be weighing upon you with Soviet-esque oppression?
