I remember the day that tickets for TPM were only like five-something. Now that was cheap!

Mine were $9.25 a piece. Very rarely do I go to the movies at night. [face_frustrated]

Where do you live that your tickets are so cheap. Is the theater nice?

Well, now it is...it wasn't always. But for some odd reason, the midnight showing of ROTS won't be shown the Stadium seating theatre  but oh well I guess.

The tickets are only cheap because they're considered to be during a matinee. Any movies that play from Monday to Thursday fall under the matinee price. If ROTS were showing on Friday night then it would probably be $10.75.

My theater has gotten really crappy with their matinee/full price distinction. It used to be that any movie that started before 6 was considered a matinee. Now, only movies that start before 4 are given matinee priced ($7.25). So, if I went to a movie that started at quarter after four, they'd charge me full price any day of the week!

Oh well. My theater is really nice, and I am spoiled on stadium seating. I refuse to go to any theater that doesn't have it.

    Mace Windy,
    too windy for spoilers!

    Windy,

You can't really see it due to the general crapiness of my image, but I paid $5 with tax for my ticket--and the theatre chain is quite cool and well-managed.

So I'm the lucky one :p

    Mine were $8.50.

After a movie's main theatrical run and before the DVD, I have a theater near me that shows movies for $2 even. [face_dancing]

$5? That's pretty sweet! Tomorrow, I'll rummage through my closet and look up the price of tickets for TPM. Yes, I still have my ticket stub from 12:01 am.

We had to pay $9.50 for ours.

I think a midnight showing ought to count as a matinee. It is before midday, after all.

Like BauconBatista, I only pay $6 bucks, for stadium seating, great picture and sound.

The down side is that you have to sit through 45 minutes of ads before the movie starts.

Although midnight shows don't have any commercials.

45 minutes of ads?? Wake me up when the movie starts... I-) :p

Good thing too because you would have a torch and pitchfork crowd by the 44th minute of commercials! :)

    True.

But you can always arrive 30 mins. after the time printed on the ticket stub and you'll see the whole movie minus the commercials.

Of course if you do that on opening day you wont get any seats, but hey it's only 6 bucks!

    If you insist.

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v503/ramjecoback/RotSOpeningNightTicket.jpg]

The full III wouldn't fit on the ticket.
Though for AotC, it was just Star Wars Epi :p
