JCC Horse Discrimination

So I saw this care yesterday with a license plate abbreviation that said Clydesdales. Something like CLDSDLLS. I don't remember exactly.

Anyway, this dude had a bumper sticker that said "real horses weigh a ton"

I don't understand what this thread is about.

What disturbs me about horses in the US is events like the Kentucky Derby, where a bunch of drunken, gambling low-lives assemble for a status-conscious celebration of wealth inequality while they also abuse animals.

 

...with nasal strips, no less.

 

Arabian horses are obviously the best.

Conditions for student and professional athletes can also be quite exploitative, so I'd be happy to see them curbed. However, there seems to be less outright abuse. Also, the behavior of spectators is much less a swamp of vice.

 

I recently found out that my aunt is really, really into horse racing when the Preakness (wtf kind of name is that?) was going on. I nearly bit my tongue in half.

Let's pretend I gave a serious answer about the horse industry in response to the ignorant babble going on but I won't actually waste my time.

Non-draft horses probably do get discriminated against in the carriage industry which since you're in a city is where I assume the bumper sticker is aiming at.

 

Wasn't there some kind of to-do with protestors at Liam Neeson's house over something like that?

Horses are big, dumb, stupid, animals that bite, stink, and kill humans.

 

I'm out on Long Island. Plenty of stables and horses out here. I just never heard of someone so pro-Clydesdale that they don't consider other horses "real."

Yeah I'd still bet it was someone from the carriage industry or the six-horse hitch industry. I know, no one has ever heard of that but the competitions are actually quite big and I only know this because the Wisconsin State Fair has a qualifying show for the national level of this every year.

There is quite a bit of hatred between the different horse disciplines: Eventing vs Hunters, Arabians vs AQHA, Paint Horse people don't like non-paint horses. Even English riding vs Western riding.

See why can't you people just get involved in a mainstream petty and stupid squabbles. Like, Jews v Palestinians, Americans v Health, Muslims v Just About Everyone, Irish v English, etc? Why make up an esoteric and even more pointless when other wonderful squabbles exist.
