Yeah plus he could have had a better zinger by saying, "Are you sure it's not... Where the history of slavery lives?"

Gallows humour on my part. We're becoming more 'Muricanised by the day. There's not much I can do other than point and laugh at what we're becoming.

that's an attitude i can relate to. i mean i tend to agree with most of the commentary in the "rags on 'murica thread". it is annoying when it spills into every thread though, not because it's not true but because it's tedious to constantly be reminded of the shortcomings of people who none of us like or aspire to emulate. dave and diggy are the only people i can think of who actually chose to live here, and aside from getting a rise out of a few people who are prone to nationalism and defensiveness i don't really see the point of the constant barrage.

Also, keep in mind, the US gets alot of news coverage around the world and it's never, ever good. There are also huge cultural influences through films and tv and the like.

In England recently, there have been huge scandals recently about historical sex abuse cases involving many BBC celebrities, including on BBC property. But I imagine the amount of the world that knows about that pales in comparison to the amount that's aware of the problems in Ferguson.

    Or I'm babbling!

I WAS GETTING THERE BEFORE YOU PEOPLE RUINED IT.

i.e. "So it's more like the history of Sydney, where we have a number of acts of brutal repression and murder of dark-skinned people? In that case, what does it have to offer me? I can understand, since zapdos' people didn't have the same chances our people had to really curbstomp a people for generations to come, how you could pitch it to her. But I'm right to avoid it, no?"

Sorry Digbert, I edited the post. I will reinstate so the above makes sense:

"Are the Carolinas shooty, like the rest of the US; or stabby, like Islington?"

Seems fair. As long as pooping isn't confined to the poop thread I still have stuff to contribute.

Speaking of which, this looks like just the place:

I also think that poor/fat people suck and we should be ruled by inbred relics of the Middle Ages as part of a Glorious Empire of White People.

it's more the criticisms of gun culture, fast food culture, rape culture, and general lack of culture that i tend to agree with. the stuff that ender actually gets excited about is generally just as horrible.

is it really more expensive though to buy the ingredients for a salad or any home cooked meal than fast food? you have to eat large amounts of fast food to get fat from it anyway, so i don't understand how it can be a money issue. maybe poor education, lack of knowledge, etc.. but come on

How do agricultural subsidies make it more expensive to buy food at supermarkets?

Anyway I remember being shocked that I was staying on Long Island City and apparently there wasn't a single supermarket within 10km. Lolwut. I have 2 within 20 minute walking distance and 5 more within 10 minutes drive.
