Thanks for that Suzi, as time is getting short does anyone have a preference for a meeting point. I suggest the base of the Scott Monument on Princes Street!

OK...a couple of people have suggested places that they want to visit earlier in this thread, namely the Castle and the Whiskey Musuem.

So, in order that we don't spend half the day scratching our heads and trying to sort out where to go, I think it may be an idea to get a couple of suggestions from people as to where/what they'd like to visit so we can at least have some sort of idea of what people want to do. It may be that some will prefer one thing over another and we need to split up for an hour or two, I don't know, but I don't want to waste half the day trying to work out where to go. If you're genuinely not bothered about what you see/do then that's fair enough.

I'm not looking for an itinerary and want this to be a relaxed affair, but it'd be nice just to have a general idea, so please feel free to suggest. [face_peace]

My suggestion is start at the Castle and then down the hill to perhaps the Whisky Museum or Mary Kings Close, however if peeps want to head off for questing then that's cool too! :)

I'm up for the Castle and Queen Mary's Close - any other cultural/historical stuff too. I'm coming up for the first time to see Edinburgh and the unique stuff the city has (ok, I will go to FP :p ) whilst chilling with the Scottish FF peeps, but tbh I won't be in the laserquest group (but please don't mind me, go shoot each other lol) - too few hours, and way too much to see already for me.

    Good suggestion, George.

I'm along the lines of Tim and George on this one, but if people want to laserquest then that's fine...like I say we can always split up for an hour or two.

Great Kooky, will be good to have you along with us :)

Just been talking to Suzi this morning about some things we may do for those arriving on Friday night (that so far includes Suzi, myself and Coz). I'll be there from about 4pm-ish, Suzi a bit later, but we are thinking of going on this - http://www.mercattours.com/haunted-underground-experience.asp - for 7pm, then getting some food (Indian, this place - http://www.suruchirestaurant.com/index.htm ). The tour can be up to 2 hours (£10 per person, less if you do the shorter version).

Does anyone want to do this on Saturday instead? Because if there is a small group interested, we'll do it Sat not Fri.

Not sure if suitable for lunch or evening meal - http://www.wannaburger.com/west-end.html ?

Posting that above for Suzi since she won't be online till later and the boards were offline when we chatted.

This applies to everyone: For future meets involving meal suggestions, please feel free to research/suggest places, or if a suggested place doesn't suit your budget, please don't be afraid to shout up..... [face_peace]

I'm sure those Subway vouchers will be well used this weekend ;)

I'll post the following on the Scotland board:

What time are people planning on arriving on Sat? Tim, Coz and myself will be there from Fri night anyway; Jase and Sie arrive at 12.13pm........does anyone else know what time they intend on arriving?

George's suggestion of meeting at the Scott Monument is a good idea, so I'll go along with that. :)

Ah, good to hear you're coming LadyP. Tim, Coz and I will see you on Fri...I'm guessing we'll arrange something between ourselves as to where we'll meet up. I'll be the last one to arrive, getting in at 6.20pm

Could we also have an idea of when the people coming up for the day were thinking of heading home on Sat? (Jase/Sie, you've already said, so no need to re-post).

It may be that those of us staying over the w/end will go on the ghost walk at 8pm on Sat if people will have headed home by then, but if people are thinking of staying late on Sat, then we don't want to be rude...I'm only asking as we need to book tickets in advance [face_peace]
