Does Marvel still have the rights to the Star Wars comics they released? Whether in color or black and white, I'd imagine that if they do that would also help to drive up the cost.

    Wookie Life Day...
GFFA holiday which exists around the time of our own Christmas here in this galaxy. With celebrations like what occurs here in this galaxy - you know, people watching exercise videos of hot women... ummmm... I mean opening their presents. Yeah, that's what I meant.

Well, that Wookie Life Day celebration is going to suck again this year. :(

*Sigh* I hope I have a job by then. Still, I must admit, it is a good deal. Anyone want to figure out which issues we'll be getting in each TPB?

For Nostalga value alone, they're worth the coin. Plus, they won't go up as time goes on, because they're reprints. However, there a lot of really good stories in those pages that I want to read again, and I like the trade paperback format.

On second thought, being a sucker for huge Imperial ships I'm going to get the TPBs that include:
    #35 Dark Lord's Gambit
    #36 Red Queen Rising
    #60 Shira's Story
    #61 Screams in the Void

All four contain vastly oversized Imperial cruisers! Yay! :D
Its gonna cost me a bundle though...

Im sure the breaks between tpbs will be a bit more logical, Ghengis. I kind of doubt they'll cut a story in the middle.

They didn't do it for Classic Star Wars. Look at the end of Rebel Storm and beginning of Escape to Hoth - it's even cut between scenes of dynamic action. They simply just grouped them all together and cut each TPB after the issue where their max. page count fell. No real logic there.

I think especially with these TPB's, because there's so many of them, they're going for maximum crammage. That's the sense I got from Dave Land.

Are they reprinting the movie adaptions yet again? I hope they don't. That's going to jip people who want the non-Lucas original stories but want a full collection of the TPBs.

Edit - It would be great if they could just reprint all of the old digests and strips too. Like "Planet of Kadril" ( as bad as it is ), "Way of the Wookiee", "Weapons Master", "The Day After the Death Star" and "World of Fire".

They're doing ANH and ESB, which are numbered, but not RotJ, which wasn't. And they're printing them all in order of release, as was said, for "maximum crammage."

Side note, if you can get in good with a comic shop retailer, you can probably get them at a discount and with no sales tax.

Regulars at my local comic shop get a 10-15% on all comics and TPBs (I get 20-25% because I used to work there). Also, comic shops don't charge sales tax on comics, and usually not TPBs either, because they're considered periodicals and do not require a sales tax.

    Just FYI.

Orignal releases are nostalgic, but just to expensive in the scheme of things. I saw #96 at my comic shop Friday (My favroute issue) and just had to get it! $20 Later and I don't want to open it :).

I think I'll just gets any of the ones with Shira/Lumiya in 'em. And the one with "Crimson Forever" ;).

As do I wild_karrde. But there are some definitely positive factors about what DHC is doing.

They are releasing them in their original form.

They will not be molested, editing them to allow later continuity to fit with them better.

And most importantly, there will not be any Infinities logo.

The only difference (which is a rather large one I grant you) is that they will not contain letters-pages and advertisements (less important). The issue of including the covers was still up in the air, I believe. I would like them to, but again we may end up missing out on those.

The early issues were 17 pages long, so that should allow them to fit a few more issues in the first few volumes. I would hope they keep storylines together. We shall see.

In a few months, Dvader. Although with color, it may have gotten pushed back a little later than they originally planned.
