** We are looking to host the NEXT Galacticon at the Air & Space Museum!! More to come on this topic, but there would be a $50 vendor charge, no charge for the fan groups, lots more programming to organize, develop J



Ø Into Darkness Premier/ Sci Fi Fest – Air & Space Museum, May 18 9am

Ø May the 4th Be With You Day – Air & Space Museum, May 4 – Picture taking with underprivileged kids who get in free for the day (sponsored by the local schools), 10a-3p

Ø Norfolk Tides Star Wars night –May 4 at 6pm, Is an official LucasFilm event, so only Legion Approved costumes (501st, Rebel Legion, Mando Mercs). No guns, but Light Sabers, PLEASE J

Ø Revenge of the 5th – Light Saber Battle, Bluebird Park 6p meet up, 6:30p Battle – DO NOT wear breakable costumes. DO wear eye protection J

Ø Comic Kings, Free Comic Book Day – May 3 need 7-10 people from 8-9:30am for TV spot; May 4 11am Comic Book Store (Comic Kings on Holland Road) – celebrating their 20th anniversary (Thad will be posting more info on FB)

Ø Indian River Library will also be celebrating Comic Book Day 11a-4p

Ø Beach Street USA – 6 dates, TBA, over the summer. Will need handlers at all the events. They “pay” for our time by donating to charity. Female troopers will be clustered together and with Beach St. provider handlers and/or folks without helmets to help increase safety. If you are bothered by a tourist, Yell for help.

Ø Car Show – July 7 10-3, Bayside Harley Davidson

Ø Untamed Spirit Race – Virginia Aviation Museum Nov 23

Ø Other: Red Cross Blood Drives at Zoo and Aquarium TBA, SPCA Adoptathons



Other Upcoming Cons

Ø FantaSci - June 29th. Will be at Chesapeake Central Library. Is TENTATIVE right now – Library contact is MIA in getting back to us with any definitely plans. We will keep you posted. May help to call the library and ask when FantiSci is this year – show that there IS an interest. Thanks!!



HouseKeeping

Ø Future Dates/Location of next TA Meetings – TBA, due to Library non-communicative.

Ø Appropriate FB Group Content/postings

Ø Parades/Trooping Safety

o Parades – no going out into crowds for pictures. Tight formation and handlers to prevent crowds from coming into the group. Girls to be kept on the inside.

o Use of the buddy system – girl troopers to be paired with people without helmets to help see what is going on.

o We will NOT be doing the St. Pattys Parade again.
