New Republic Independence Day?

Happy 4th of July America!

And I hope our friends around the world have a good day too!

Does anyone remember a reference to a "Freedom Day" or something of the like during the NR era?

*note* this is not "Republic Day" as that refers to an Old Republic holiday.

Does anyone remember that and where it was?

 

Endor Day, referenced obliquely in a number of sources-- an explosion in one book (I believe one of Stackpole's) is referred to as resembling a multistage Endor Day rocket.

I would think it would be on one of two dates:

The Battle of Endor, or the liberation of Coruscant

 

I prefer the phrase "Fall of Imperial Center myself": it's less biased.

As far as I know though, the Rebel capture of Imperial Center isn't celebrated in the same way as the Battle of Endor is. After all, the New Republic considered itself a legitimate governemnt prior to its occupation of Imperial Center, whether or not that was the case.

They celebrated the liberation of Coruscant, in Liberation Day . They also had Restoration Day.

 

And there's Empire Day even though that's not Rebels.

Empire Day used to be a holiday in Australia.

Independence Day had the best Jewish joke ever in a film! I was stunned. About to be superlasered, David's father asks a passing guy if he wants to join them and pray. But I'm not Jewish, says the guy. Don't worry about it, the father assures him, no one's perfect.
