No Nebraska IMAX :(

Hey Nebraskans!
I'm not a Nebraskan but I go to school at Concordia University in Seward, NE. I might stop by in this forum every now and then and would like to meet some fellow Star Wars fans in this area some time.

Anyways, I called the IMAX theater in Omaha at the zoo and the one in Hastings and neither one is getting Star Wars. Very sad.
I did get to watch it at the Starship 9 the last two weekends but it's not the same as it was on the real big screen with nice sound. Waiting for the DVD...

I really wanted to see it on the big, big screen.

 

I am glad. I don't want to sit in the Imax theatre for 2 plus hours. And, I've been to the Imax theatre before and its a little dizzying and I'd rather just watch my DVD when I get it and not have to go to Omaha to see it on a big screen.

I very much doubt it, Arwen. You could try imax.com or something......and watch either the Episode 2 page or the main page of this site for news. They might have a final listing sometime in the future.



To me, driving 4 hours to see a movie on a big screen is a little nuts.....but that is just me.


I don't like the seats in the IMAX theater either. I'm been to a few different IMAX
theatres and they all made me sleepy or dizzy.


The thought of sitting for 2 hours+ is just nauseating.


At least at home, I can pause the DVD and make free popcorn.

I'm disappointed because I really like being overwhelmed by the huge IMAX picture.
Also the sound would have been amazing! I'd pay the admission just to hear one of Slave I's seismic charge on the IMAX surround sound. Especially after the weak sound at the Starship the last two viewings...

Oh well. Driving to KC would probably be a little extreme.

The lady that I talked to at the Hastings IMAX said they only get movies that have been out a while, like now they have October Sky and the next one they get is Forrest Gump. Maybe in the future they'll still get Star Wars. <fingers crossed>

October Sky was really good... but AotC was better.

The closest IMAX is 4 hours away. Sorry, its just not worth it to me. Why drive 4 hours away to see a movie on a huge screen, having to stay there 2 hours + to watch it and then spend another 4 hours driving home?


Its just not worth it. I'm waiting for the DVD. It'll be cheaper to get the DVD since you would have to:


Gas Money to get there + admission + gas money home = more than the price of the DVD.



Plus, my seats are more comfortable and i get free soda and popcorn.

I have MICROWAVE Popcorn *and* I usually have Sprite or another kind of carbonated beverage stocked in my refrigerator!

I don't want to see it on an 8 Foot screen and its certainly not worth it for the cost to get down there.
