NYC, NY NYC Halloween Parade

Hi All;

To those I met post-parade. Thanks for making a newbie feel as welcome as an old friend. It was a blast. To those I met before. It was great to see you all again. Jeckyll and Hyde's was so much fun . It wasn't "...so bad. On the outside." (Han in ESB). A toast to next year's parade.

It was great to have you. They're all a fun bunch...even after you've gotten to know them. We're taking a bit of a break from our meetings since the holidays are coming up, but keep your eyes posted here for upcoming events and notice for our next meeting. Always great to meet new people. Let me know if you're going to post those pics of yours, I'd love to see them.

Another great weekend - I would have gotten my pictures up at 3am, but i was tired and had my boyfriend here... But anyway,

You know, I knew that farmgirl was looking kind of out of place in the gaggle of Jedi and Troopers (and a few smugglers *cough*) until I put two + two together.

My thoughts:

The Trooper Groupie is a great gimmick. I do marketing and promotions IRL, and I just started thinking about all the possibilities for it.

The logo - Imperial Logo with a kiss-print overlayed on it.

Trooper Groupies should have kneepads.

I was very, very scared of Dana's stake. That thing looked highly dangerous.

No matter what message board you go to, one thing will always be present.

In the Village Halloween Parade, you have to make room for the GLBTG community. Sorry, they get priority, no matter how much their costumes suck.

Speaking of costumes, it was nice to see the Howard Dean supporters dressed up for the occassion.

Is it "Darth Leia" or "Lady Vader"?

I just realized i never got any pictures of myself this halloween.... D'oh! Would have liked to seen how my hair actually did turn out.

Trooper groupies was started kinda as a joke by the Co of the ECG - Rich Kopacz. Then - somehow, it magically turned into a big thing and all the girls go around in short white mini skirts, and knee high white boots being "groupies" to the stormtroopers. Although me - I protest - Im a disgruntled trooper groupie

Dana's stake probabaly could do damage to someone.. hehe

Mmmmm I think this was my last halloween parade. Too much standing around for way too long.

 

Yes, those German girls do have a special place in my heart. I can't deny it at all!!!


Now, if we could just find a picture of it!!!!

Funny you should say that. I have a pic. Unfortunately, my only working CF reader is at work, so I'll take care of it tomorrow.

As for the German girls, I was going to take a picture, but there was issues.

BTW, I want to apologize about any... erm... disputes that may have been boiling up while we were waiting to march.

For my solo costume, I have to...

1) Lose about 20 lbs.
2) Shorten the vest
3) Work on the gun belt
4) Get the right boots

Everyone else looked great.

By the way had a blast marching with you guys and I'm planning on getting imperial kneepads for the next time I wear the trooper groupie.

I think their should be a Scout wing of the trooper groupies. Like a slogan on the Tshirt that says :"Scouts are the first ones in" or something like that.

Kathy, I knew her name, I really did, and the ride was no problem. Glad you enjoyed it.

I'm just surprised that that was the only pictures of me giving people rides to show up! after all, I did give 3 people rides during the parade!

Hey Honey there is no altering the shirt LOL. No Special treatment for the any branch we love all the imperial forces equally LOL.

And no problem crowning you with the shirt you looked very cute in the padmae and the shirt I think it worked really well LOL.
