In my opinion, Darth Plagueis would have been much cooler and creepier as a human. That long Munn head isn't doing it for me. Having Palpatine's master come back is a cool idea because he is actually mentioned earlier in the saga. Having a good actor play him could make him a great, deceitful villain. Having a dude with a huge CG head would not.

 

Oh. My bad. LOL.

I don't like it, then. It takes away what Sids accomplished as a Dark Lord before his rise to power.

 

Opening crawl.

Large starship after that.

Lightsaber fights.

John Williams music (or nearest equivalent).

These are the first things that spring to mind as "what makes Star Wars".

Any other thoughts?

 

Star Destroyers.

 

The Phantom Menace managed to not have them- but that might have been one of the disappointing factors.

 

Lucas is the one who decided he would be a Muun. (And the head on the novel is definitely out of proportion )

 

TPM was, in many ways, the odd movie out.

 

R2 and 3PO? Even TPM managed to have them. I'd consider them likely even if these movies were set 100 years or so post ROTJ.

I know a lot of people are concerned about the opening crawl but I think that's actually one of the last things they'd ditch when trying to revive the SW brand.

 

Come on, that was a product of choreography. The Sequel Trilogy will show Luke at his full power and choreography will likely be done by Gillard.

I just hope there are crazy wipes as transitions between scenes. And no, despite this being me, I'm not actually being flippant about that.

Maul being a villain is another real possibility, if he doesn't meet his final end during the Clone Wars.

Maybe it was even Plagueis who stopped Maul from dying?

 

Are we going to have a Star Destroyer in the opening shot of the movies like in the OT and ROTS?
