Oola's ROTJ wardrobe malfunction

I heard about this on the ROTS board and i was wondering what was the wardrobe malfunction? I ask this because when i watched the movie. i didnt see anything so what was it?

 

When she's pulling on her chain to get away from Jabba, her right breast slips out for half a second.

Or so you guys say. I've never seen it myself. Then again i don't notice the Emepror's Slugs. So I'm inclined to believe you all.

I'll try to get a timestamp from the DVD after bit if I remember; I have a show recording right now so I can't.

 

It's true , I first saw it in 1998 while watching jedi with some friends. Understand she's coverd in green make up , but it's there to see , during her struggle with jabba just before the trap door gets her.

 

It is 100% completely true. GL missed it the first time he edited the film, and the MPAA missed it too, it happens so quickly. Its there, but, totally not worth hyping up.

DVD note: it was NOT removed for the DVD edition. It is still there.

 

That's one "fix" I'm glad they didn't catch.

I never knew about this until a couple days ago when I was looking at some Star Wars blooper site. I havn't spent any time looking for it though. So it is in all of the versions of the movie? And does GL know about it but just doesnt feel like changing it?

 

I'm not sure, but I think there was originally 2 times when she popped out. One of them was removed in the special editions but the other for some reason was left in...

both times are on the DVD. The first is when she is struggling with the chains, the second occurs as she is dropping into the Rancor pit.

In the original version (like the THX editions), both incidents can be seen: the wide shot when she's pulling back on Jabba's chains and the close-up of her as she drops through the trapdoor. On the SE version, though, the first incident is now gone because the shot has been shortened, cutting just before it happens. I've compared the same shot from both versions, and it is missing from the SE. However, the second incident (the close-up) is still there.

 

I never noticed this until I heard about it on the JC, so I ended up freezing the tape and watching that bit in slow-motion to see if it was true. It is true - she does fall out of her costume, although it's only visible for a few frames in the movie.

Leave it to JCers to point out things like that and forever corrupt my conception of these movies.
