But the word "has" doesn't need to be there. And you are including an apostrophe to allow for its ommission. Include the apostrophe, expand the sentence, and it doesn't make sense. That can't be right. Don't include the apostrophe, and the sentence makes sense with no further amendments.

    Everton stays losing :p
Imagine it was a town called Richardsons, or something.
Richardsons has many parks. Sounds stupid, but is correct.
Richardsons has talent. Also sounds stupid, but is correct. :p

Though in this case, I think the plural case sounds better and is equally correct, since the team is actually called 'The Richardsons' as in a collection of Richardson-surrogates, rather than 'Team Richardsons'.

Sure that's correct. However, the "has" needs to be present there because if you remove it the sentence means something slightly different - "Richardsons many parks". Remove the "has" from "Richardsons has got talent" and you get "Richardsons got talent" which does make sense.

It makes sense audibly as it sounds the same, but it doesn't make sense when written.

"team richardsons" is a singular entity - a phrase by itself. Just because the individual word "richardsons" refers to a plurality, that doesn't change anything. "team richardsons" is a singular phrase which just happens to have an "s" on the end.

It follows the same rules as "team glass". You would have no issue saying "team glass has got talent". You're looking at the individual word "richardsons" rather than the phrase "team richardsons"

Only if you add the apostrophe in your mind. Think about it. London got talent? Cahill got talent? Sounds wrong to me.

    "Team Richardsons" is singular. Agreed.

However, "has" and thus an apostrophe to allow for its absence, is not necessary because "Team Richardsons has got talent" is ridiculous. You can circumnavigate that problem by not bothering with the apostrophe.

And it is wrong. However because "Team Richardsons" has an s, that awkwardness is avoided.

But you can't say "team glass got talent" and glass ends with an S

Consider the words "its" and "it's". You can say "its great" and you can say "it's great". They both sound the same, but written only the latter is correct

You can say "team richardsons got talent" and you can say "team richardsons' got talent". They both sound the same, but written only the latter is correct.

You can't omit words just because the one before ends in an S. If it's singular, it's singular. Take halibut's earlier example. None of these are wrong (via google).
"Flying Bark Productions has the opportunity..."
    "Robyn Kershaw Productions has established...."
    "REDBACK Productions has built...."
"Neil Gooding Productions has teamed up with...."

    Or, for the perfect example...
'Giggs has got talent'. Surely you wouldn't argue that should be 'Giggs got talent'. :p

    The RICHARDSONS have had enough.

EDIT: anyways, wouldn't it be Team RICHARDSON, not Team RICHARDSONS?

Usually in this game, the team name refers to the players last names, which would make Richardsons plural:

    Everton Richardson
    Epic Richardson
    George Roper-Richardson
    OBIWAN_JR Richardson
    Darth Omega-Richardson

So in that case The Richardsons've Got Talent would be correct.

This is a good point. The only reason we are called "The RICHARDSONS" is because there's more than one of us.

EDIT: In which case, the correct phrase is "Team RICHARDSON has got talent", and thusly "Team RICHARDSON'S got talent".

While that is correct, when you say it as "Team Richardsons" it is referring to the team as a whole, or as a singular entity. However, if it's "The Richardsons", it probably should have been written as "Team Richardson", because that encompasses the entire family or group of Richardsons, with 'team' taking on the plurality of it. i.e "Team Canada" is not called "Team Canadians".

LMAO! So although we're now moving onto a whole different area of debate, my original picture was correct then? ;)

BUT if the name of the team was "Team Richardsons", then as Marcus and myself have said, an apostrophe AFTER the S is needed.

But I agree that The Richardsons SHOULD be called Team Richardson for the reasons stated above.
