But I think the 277 format was sevens, which would be the last "true" ASG we had. So that's the baseline to work off of as far as past history, with full 15 for last season's pro-am ASG.

 

What do we say? Reserves (7s) or no reserves (15s) for this year?

 

I'm pretty sure that we have never done an ASG with full teams of 15, aside from the pro-am last season.

 

I don't think that we have. I'm guessing 7s is the preference? Then we have the drama of who's a reserve and who isn't.

We've done sevens before, and I think it would lead to a more exciting game to watch if it were in RL. Rugby sevens is always fun to watch because it runs faster than the full 15 set, so why not here?

 

All right. Next question: how much time does everyone need to send in nominations/votes for the all star game/season awards? Are two weeks necessary or is one needed? I want to give everyone the opportunity to participate. The ASG needs to get off the ground shortly. I actually want to start the voting for it soon to enable teams to be announced after Week 11 so that players who do not have teams in the playoffs have something they can write about during the offseason...assuming they don't have other plans...

 

One week is fine for me, personally. I'd like to think I've been paying attention.

I typically don't send in nominations, and voting for me is based on whims and takes only a few minutes. So I'm fine with whatever the rest of you decide.

 

For those of you keeping score, this season with NPC teams getting a 30 point roll, in bonus roll vs. non-bonus roll games, the bonus roll team has won 54.84% of the time. When NPC teams were getting a 35 point roll in 278, bonus teams won 67.86% of the time.

 

Insufficient sample size.

That winning percentage is just going to get lower for player teams since I haven't played Hapes yet this season.

 

We'll see if things turn around come playoffs. This sample size will be two weeks greater.

 

I want to live in a world where NPC teams don't make the playoffs.

I do actually like having a few NPC teams, gives us a chance to do nearly anything we want for a week game wise which can be fun. I just hate it when they make the playoffs and keep real players out.

 

Unfortunately, half the players brought in don't stick around that long . . .

 

And the ones that do end up running teams like the Mercs or Senators....
