I really don't know what we want to say about ourselves on here, do we to at all even? Let us know what you think and other ideas you have. How much text do we need on it, should we keep people guessing?

    Please respond... someone!

Sounds good. We wouldn't want any more than that on there.

    Keep it simple.
People don't read pass line 3 unless the subject is of interest to them.

Highlight who, what and where-then mention cost down below.

    Just a thought :)

My advice is not to push the "join up now" bit ,just tell them who, what and where we are and encourage them to come check us out.
If they like it they will join.
The next thing to do is give them a reason to join, at the moment members have no advantage over nonmembers.
Maybe this should be the topic of our next meet.
I will put forward a sugestion, How about a members only chat room.
I dont know how hard it is to get one up and running, I'll leave that up to those who know a bit more about it.

Good one LD perhaps we should have a discussion about the posters some more before releasing them. We really need to give a good first impression.

So what are the benefits to this club, anyone?

As a non-member, the things that stick out that you can offer is:

Meeting people that like SW etc
Being part of an "Official" Club.
Your own chat area(which could be done)
    Network Gaming

    Once you are more financial:
    Discounts to Sci-Fic movies
Gala opening with a crowd to SW2 at reduced cost.
Annual get together(free of charge)whilst still meeting at other times of course.

Something else just hit me--with a poster very few people walk around with pen and paper, perhaps you could have an area on the poster or staple the contact areas in mass so people interested could just rip them off, and shove into a pocket.

I'd been thinking that when we get someone to display a poster for us we can also ask them to have a few smaller versions available as flyers that people can take.
I like the rest of the ideas given. SOme additions that I've thought of. I'd love to be able to arrange a starwars movie marathon. I think we may be able to organise something like that with one of the smaller cinemas if w ask around a bit. I don't know how hard it would be to organise but we might be surprised.
I'd also like to organise some kind of mini fan-fair like some of the one's I've been to in recent years. It could be a good place for people to showcase/sell collectables. We could get permission to show several fanfilms on a video projector (that I could get hold of). Perhaps even have a costume contest with some kind of a prize for the best there. I've got several other ideas for that sort of fair that I think would be better explained in person. The next official meet perhaps unless anyone feels like chatting about that sort of thing at any earlier informal meets.
