ok. this might be a dumb topic, but in the five movies we've seen so far, the only jedi funeral pyres that we've seen are qui-gon's and anakin/vader's. seeing how he discovers anakin, it seems interesting to elaborate on their connection and i was wondering if this might be further harnessed together in E3. outside of star wars, there is the phoenix rising from ashes idea. could that tie in?

I've always just thought it was a standard Jedi funeral practice. They are the only 2 Jedi that we have seen any type of death ritual for.

but i'm going for more of the symbolic. perhaps this could be tossed into a ghost discussion thread. but even thinking of it as the typical jedi ritual...
