He would've probably taken Yoda's advice a bit more seriously and mediate on a better answer. He might've simply given Anakin a tech job at the Temple so he could both be safe and be under his watchful eye, as well as appeasing Yoda and the Council.
If he had evidence that he'd turn evil he'd just use that to convince the Jedi that they HAD to take him in now.
Like a lot of these types of questions, it would kind of undermine the rest of the story if he had know. The whole point is he had no clue if he'd go dark side or not because all he could sense was his great potential.
Qui Gon also didn't anticipate dying. Had he been able to train Anakin, Anakin may have turned out different.
Anakin would have benefitted a whole lot under Qui Gon's tutelage. In a what if scenario I would have loved to seen how Anakin would have turned out under such circumstances? Anakin no doubt in my mind would have been a great Jedi with the teachings of Qui Gon.
Agreed. Qui Gon knew very well the living force was forever moving, which meant things could've gone either way. He also had great belief in the will of the force, meaning, even if it was set in stone, he probably would've taken Anakin anyway. He knew Anakin was revealed to him for a reason, it wouldn't be his place to question the force, whether he turned evil or not QG would just believe the force intended for it all to happen and it's a "greater scheme of things" situation. I mean, the council did warn him that Anakin even as a child housed some darkness and there were great dangers in training him, and he wouldn't take that as an answer.
