Best games ever, IMO...

1) Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
2) Chrono Trigger
3) Super Metroid
4) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
5) Illusion of Gaia
6) Contra
7) Super Mario RPG
8) StarCraft
9) GoldenEye/Perfect Dark
10) Super Mario World

1)- Had the best story, logic of progression and music than the other Zelda games. By itself it still is the best game I have ever played.
2)- Close second. Best RPG ever. Great story, controls, tons of replay value. It's Square.
3)- The ultimate in action-sidescroller-exploration titles. Really helped evolved the Metroid storyline and mythos. One of the best endings to a game ever.
4)- Best 3D adventure game, great graphics that pushed its system to new heights, had a solid story that drew heavily from the backstory to A Link to the Past. Only downside is a tad slow going at the start, and many times you were left wondering just what you were supposed to do or where you were supposed to go next. Also was missing the sense of urgency ALTTP portrayed heavily.
5)- Very solid, if Zelda-esque, game. The mental abilities and sense of global adventure (through very different and often beautiful settings) only heightened the great story.
6)- up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right...
7)- Another fine example of Square when they were still at their best. great graphics, fun battle system. I need to play this again...
8)- Entaro Adun. Brought near-perfection to the RTS style WarCraft utilized, while oferring one hell of an addictive multiplayerexpierence. Not many games are this good and this widely played 5 or 6 years after they are first released.
9) I count these two as the same, as Perfect Dark is essentially the same game just with upgraded graphics and guns...if only they made that blurry-vision feature as an option you could disable, Perfect Dark would have been the ultimate multiplayer FPS, alas, as it stands one must keep them on equal footing.
10) Best sidescroller ever. Period.
