Sad news about Rebel Mom - Link to obituary/online memorial posted 7/30

What shocking and saddening news! Cheryl was so kind and supportive back when I was a TFN newbie and, although I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, I know what a wonderful woman she was.

Her time on earth was too short yet she made a lasting impression on so many.

Peace and comfort to all of her family and friends.

Thanks for the list ardavenport. Shackled Past was one of the first fan fics I read on the boards when I joined so long ago. Rebel Mom will be missed, not only for her kindness but her writing.

I am saddened with this news. I never had the privilege to actually converse with her, but I've known some of her fics and I am truly a huge fan. Her works inspired my fics

My prayers goes out to her husband and children

 

For those who have asked a service will be held July 31 in Lynwood, WA but no time announced yet.

I'm not sure who to ask, I guess Jedi Trace, but maybe all of her works could be archived in some way so that they move to the new boards?

 

Someone asked about that in Comms yesterday, Jada. The admins say that since her account isn't banned, it and her posts will move to the new boards like everyone else's.

 

RIP Rebel Mom. My heart goes out to her family. I hope that they find some comfort in the fact that she will always be remembered and loved by so many.

 

My... I have lost old fanfic friends through real life obligations and such over time, but it is the first one I lose through death... and such a sad and sudden death... Without that surgery... It happened to my family as well last year... so I can completely relate to the grief of those she left behind... My thoughts and heart are with them in this time of trial, as is, I'm sure, Cheryl's bigger-than-life spirit.

Rebel Mom, we will miss you (Wookiee HUG!!!!) You left too soon...

 

I have information on Cheryl's Service for next Saturday - rather than posting it publicly, I'll ask that people PM me for the information (if you'd like to send flowers ect) - I'll be there in person, finding something in bright yellow to celebrate her life.

As the Obit has been made public, there are a few of us meeting up before hand, if you'd like to join us - I found a bright yellow scarf to wear!

I "met" Cheryl about 10 years ago on here and through the Mara & Luke fanfiction list on Yahoo Groups. Her stories were always a joy to read, and her encouragement back in my writing days was always a pleasure to receive. I never had the privilege of meeting her in person, as my fandom days have been behind me for some years now, but I will always remember her kindness.

Thank you for posting links to Rebel Mom's stories. She will always be with us here. I never got to meet her in person but knew her here on the forums, and appreciated her kindness. (We're all a big family here.)
