Hou, TX Sci Fi Expo (July 8-9) in Plano

I like to get the speedpass thing because I hate waiting in lines. The only reason to stay on Sunday is that there are less people there and the vendors usually cut their prices to get rid of things.

 

I just ordered my speedpass and I have hotel reservations for Friday night. I'm set

 

I just picked up a TSC Hoth Vader with a Vader holo - an excellent prospect for a Prowse autograph

So I was wondering, what autographs are you guys planning on buying?

 

This trip, I'm going to see if I can get David Prowse, Ray Park, and Matthew Wood. I'm also contemplating Orli Shoshan, I'll make that decision once I get there. What about you?

 

Well, I want Dave Prowse because his line was always the longest at the Con and I missed him last time because of that. I am not sure about any other ones yet. I have to budget for gas and the hotel first. Oh, yeah, bills need to be paid too. Hehe.

I've never gotten an autograph, ever.

So I'm thinking I won't, but I do like the Sith and two of them will be there.

I guess I'm pretty torn. I am not sure what I would do with them once I got them, I can't really imagine myself framing them and putting them on a wall or anything.

 

I have a few autographed action figures, and hopefully I can add a few more.

I'm such a newb. I thought that people just got the autographed pictures. I guess I have this vision from Galaxy Quest where Tim Allen is just signing those pictures and flicking them away.

So these are the carded action figures that are being signed?

How does this work, do you bring the figure with you or do they have them there?

 

Yeah, I buy the carded figures in stores or on e-bay and you bring them to the Con to get signed. I suggest that you buy protective cases for your figures after you get them signed so it doesn't get messed up. It also looks really nice on the walls that way.

 

Same here... I have an acrylic case for my POTF2 Boba Fett, but the others are in Star Cases

Suddenly this con is in just a few days! My kids are pretty excited. They really have no idea what to expect. Hopefully it will be lots of fun with plenty of people dressed up.

 

I just lost my brother-in-law to a heart attack so I'm not going to be able to go.
