Lit Self-Printed books (AKA How I Learned To Stop Worry And Only Collect pre-"Announcement")

Hi all,

I don't post very often (but do read daily), but some of you may rememeber previous posts where I've discussed my hobby of using the net to self-print paperbacks containing ficition that is otherwise unavailable in such a handy format.

Since the "announcement", I've been on the hunt, and can now hand on heart say that with the exceptions of a couple of Droid books, and 'Luke Skywalker's Race Against Time' and 'Han Solo's Rescue Mission' (which I have only ever seen at ridiculous prices), I now own every single EU (1976-2013) tale that has ever been published, in one format or another.

Which leads me back to my original point.....so I am currently compiling word docs for everything that has never seen the light of day in a paperback format. Short stories & vignettes mostly. I own all the original sources, wether it be Insider, Gamer, Sourcebooks etc. But as I'm (just slightly) OCD about timeline placements, and not missing anything, I thought I'd post my contents lists here to see if one of my fellow posters and timeline enthusiasts can spot anything I may have missed.

I realise that some of these are indeed in other publications, but like to have them all in one handy to grab book.

isn't it missing Bib Fortuna and the Rise of the Dark Falls

 

I recognize the titles for almost all of those. Like you, I have been trying to track down in hard copy, or electronic version everything printed in the EU for the last 36 years. I'm getting close, but there are some really hard to find things out there. Which is frustrating, especially since the advent of Disney Wars means that they'll never see the light of day ever again and be snapped up even more quickly when they are available.

 

I...I just have to say...

 

Actually I think I do notice something missing. There was an Old Republic-era story on the Star Wars Galaxies site called "Lost Treasure." Maybe you have it grouped with the other Galaxies stories later in the timeline but it's archived here if you're interested.

 

My god, I don't even recognize most of those titles. Gah! Good job, good job.

 

A lot of them are little vignettes from sourcebooks and essential guides

It's these little gems that I love unearthing. I'd actually place this one sometime after the vong war, due to the mention of excavating the Jedi Temple

The first part, "Lost Treasure," takes place sometime in the Old Republic era, based on when Wookieepedia says the characters in it lived. The "Doctor Olok" part takes place millennia later when they're excavating the Jedi temple on Mustafar from the first story.

There are at least two more obscure Galaxies stories that I know of: "The Explorer's Guide to the Clone Relics" and "Move It or Lose It."

 

So basically you're compiling whatever star wars materials that aren't collected into your own self-made collections?

Those self made books look mighty fine.

Man, once all the final Legends stories are produced (there are still a few EGTW cut content posts left), it would be awesome if you'd create omnibi in chronological order including everything like this (integrating into their places the stuff you've already published), including the WotC rpg vignettes, rpg scenarios (including those S-canon stories in the various magazines), and a volume or two for the amazing articles/blog posts that aren't really stories (like a lot of Pena's work). I'd be willing to buy those in a heartbeat.

 

Believe me, I've seriously considered doing that!

Is there a specific way to self-print these? Because this sounds like a wonderful idea to do once I've finished collecting the Legends novels/TPBs I don't have.

This is the problem with these projects....I have this latest volume all lined up ready to go, and then EA publish a new in-universe blog on the TOR site!

 

There's a couple of things that I've debated wether to include or not, like c-3po's journal from one of the early 2000's UK Annuals

 

Threepio's journal entries should be in, as well as Vader's (also from the UK annuals) and the in-universe messages set during the films (also UK annuals).

 

Lulu also does a comic size. My 'Reversal Of Fortune, comic is a prized possession

 

Do you have a complete list of all the obscure short stories (etc) that you're including? I've been compiling a list of my own but I wouldn't mind comparing them to make sure we each have a complete list/catalog.
