I am disappointed that you didn't mention John Carter or Prince of Persia

That could be true but we, and with we I mean I, have not seen any indication on that outside of artist drawing female devaronians without fur but with hair.

To my understanding the black disks you see on some devaronian females forehead is something that only appear on their bar skin

So I ask, do we have any explanation to why so many devaronian females look like this -

    - instead of like this -
    [IMG]
    - outside of that fury devaronian females are less sexy than shaved once? Or that artists are just lacy?

Or maybe I am just over thinking it?

There seemed to be lesbian slavery undertones when the Cat queen was slapping Ahsokas Arse in that slavery episode

Disney is the King of Family Entertainment. They're also the former owner of Miramax, current of Marvel, and people who have taken several surprisingly principled stands on certain issues of sexuality. Also, are too rich and pervasive to really be challenged by Moral Guardians as has been proven in the past.

Movie? No. Well, unless it's framed very-very carefully.

But yes, I found Cade Skywalker as a man with a healthy sex life (while being a bachelor) the least offensive part of his character. Certainly, I also enjoyed his relationship with Azlyn Rae. I really hate how that ended up. Having it automatically equate to him being a degenerate is a bit of a 1950s attitude too and STar Wars is at least the SEVENTIES gosh darnit.

There's a spectrum to these sorts of things and just as some of the violence in Star Wars has gotten (for lack of a better term) pornographic so does not all sex have to be graphic but should be at least acknowledged. As mentioned above, there's something ridiculous about being willing to blow up Alderaan but not acknowledge Han and Leia are lovers until an off-hand mention in TCOPL.

I like the romance element to Star Wars and the sexiness bits--thinking violence is okay but sex is not is silly.

Didn't say that. Just meant that while sexual activity is not a centerpiece of Star Wars, violence (as in, good vs. evil) is.

You are using JC as an example? Because it didn´t look much as in the novels... and they didn´t hit the bed until they married. Haven´t seen PoP, do they reproduce the baths scene from Sands of Time?

And Disney, in products that people will think Disney as soon as mentioned, hasn´t impressed me much so far. SW is aimed at kids like it or not, and they are going to step carefully there.

About Han and Leia, I don´t believe Han just kept to himself during the voyage until Bespin. And Leia changes into non-white clothing for the first time there.

I was actually thinking of the white apes and Warhoons scenes. Especially the Warhoons scene since it shows us the cost of war and why John don’t want to get involved

I was just reading the At War with the Empire (Vol 2) Omnibus, and there are two attempted rapes in that one collection, one that I can't recall the details of the characters involved, but the second an Imperial Officer traumatizing the blond character (Edit: Remembered, Deena Shan) we never hear from again in the EU after the comics. Sure, it doesn't play out, but the implications are enough to make the story more down to earth. Then again, this is Dark Horse. On the whole it didn't feel out of place, added to the desperate nature of the scene, and was handled in a mature manner.

On a completely side note; do we have any clue what happened to her character after that comic arc? The wookie has no info, but it just might not have been added yet.

They actually denied it was intended as a rape attempt/threat, but it certainly read like that. It´s a bit like that quick time death from the last Tomb Raider, the guy certainly doesn´t look like intending to kill Lara.

Seriously? That's rather amusing. But I suppose if you wanted to wilfully ignore the subtext (and i'd argue its not even that), he could really just enjoy torturing people before they die. Which is pretty terrible in of itself.

Actually, with book in hand, page 265 of the At War with the Empire (Vol 2) Omnibus is much harder to pass off that way. Very high on the creep factor. I was just surprised to find two instances in one hundred pages, though of course they were originally separate comics. They can claim what they wish to appease the PG crowd, but its clear what the intent behind these scenes was. I don't even see what the issue is, as both times the crisis is averted, in very action-girl-esque scenes too.

I will say that the pic of Jaina and Jag is a little o_O for me simply because the top of her flight suit if off but his is not only on but looks like it's zipped up. The tank top is a little strange since I would think that they would want the fighter pilots to have a jumpsuit of some kind on underneath with the tank top under that. It would just seem wiser in case the pilot crashes on some planet then they have actual clothes. It is implied that the green outfit Luke wears on Dagobah and then Bespin is underneath his flight suit. It seems like a double standard if this is the case for female pilots to wear tank tops underneath their flight suits while males have actual clothes.

The scene with Tahiri and Ben was really strange and Tahiri isn't at all likable or even pitiful after thirteen years she still hasn't moved on from her teenage crush? I know that there was more to it but Anakin Solo was sixteen and she was a year or so younger then him.

Leather isn't very flexible so why would someone wear a suit made from it on a mission and wouldn't it squeak?

And I don't know about my fellow females but I would rather not wear something that would give me no support on top. I'd want it tight and to have a little padding since it's embarrassing to know that guys can see my nipples through my shirt if I don't.

But that's how I feel not the whole of female society.

It actually seems to be the undershirt, very similar to the one worn by Luke, she properly took the shirt jacket off before hand.

I personally always figured Luke had the tank top on under his flight suit, and the gray Bespin outfit was a spare change of clothes he had in all those boxes he magically pulled out of his one-man fighter. :p

She had. Around the Force heretic trilogy her YV identity tells her, and that she´s feeling guilty because of that. But Denning ignored that along with everything else.

I pretend that scene never happened.

BTW, when HAS Mara ever worn an outfit like the Black Widow?

It started when the HTTE comics were drawn without the artists apparently reading the novels first; they drew Mara in a sleeveless leather catsuit. This inspired images of Mara in leather catsuits, rather than in full-body jumpsuits or clothes with sleeves, which she would need for a sleeve gun. See:

The last pic is the absolute worst offender, because that is the cover of Sacrifice, where she would be fifty-something years old, and she was described wearing a gray jumpsuit with sleeves and lots of pockets. I see nowhere for pockets on that jumpsuit! Plus that cover is just bad anyways. Face position doesn't match hair position doesn't match body position, and her blade is way off-center of the hilt. But that's beside the point. The point? Leather!

She doesn't even look like she's in her fifties!

My mom looks fifty-six. I will say that my mom had nine children while Mara only had one but there was a lot of stress in Mara's life. She shouldn't look like she's in her twenties.

I never saw Mara's costume, which to me more resembled an overall, in Heir to the Empire comic as being made by leather. B.t.w. what is the difference between a catsuit and a jumpsuit?

I see and agree but unless her suit is referred to as being made of leather I think it is supposed to be some kind of science-fiction material. Also do those people have no imagination? Mara can have different costumes you know
