    Looking at the other seven troopers, you and Zan continue to nod in agreement. The corporal is quite steamed when you don't answer. "Report your operating number immediately."

    "Listen, corporal." Zan looks at you with concern, but you continue to speak. "That guy in the underpants is actually one of the escaped prisoners." You point to the other squad.

    The corporal ignores your claim. "Operating number?"

    Meanwhile, the sergeant and his group step off the turbolift to begin searching for you.

    Attempting the Jedi mind trick, you wave your hand. "You don't need our operating numbers."

    "I don't need your operating numbers," the corporal says. (+2 Influence)

    Your concentration surprises Zan. "I am your superior officer."

    "You are my superior officer," the corporal repeats slowly. (+1 Influence)

    You attempt more. "You will have one of your men fetch me a master key card at once."

    The corporal speaks in a droid-like, emotionless manner. "There is no master key card."

    Meanwhile, the sergeant starts to patrol the area, but hasn't picked you out yet.

    > tell newly brainwashed Imp corporal to run screaming into a very far away corner about how he has renounced all belief in the Imperial remnant and simply wants to be a moisture farmer. While brainwashed Imp corporal is causing a ruckus, motion to Zan to walk casual, quiet-like, and with a healthy bit of Force-sneak past the nosy sergeant back towards the lift and take it back down towards the bottom level.
    > While you have a moment inside the relative privacy of the lift, curse the day you ever awoke on his misbegotten hellhole with a bunch of people trying to kill you, aside from your precious Zan, and the time you decided to give away your lightsaber to that jerk. Blame Katarn for it all, somehow. Miss the sexy Twi'Lek curves even though she had a somewhat annoying habit of trying to kill you.

    The newly brainwashed corporal runs away from his squad. "I renounce my belief in the Remnant!" He ends up cowering in the southwest corner of the hangar bay, near the Jedi starfighter. "I want to be a moisture farmer!" (+2 Influence)

    It seems your distraction is helping someone else as well. The squad of stormtroopers guarding the starfighter runs over to assist the corporal. However, one member of the squad stays behind and enters the starfighter. You notice that the trooper throws a bryar pistol into the cockpit before boarding.

    You motion carefully to Zan. Enshrouding yourself and Zan with a dose of force sneak, you easily walk past the nosy sergeant and his men. (+1 Stealth) Once you reach the turbolift, you notice that 'underpants' trooper is leading the squad he ratted you out to. They approach. Before they reach you, the lift takes off towards the lower levels with a whoosh.

    Zan Sey takes off his stormtrooper helmet. "This is insane!" he barks at you. "How long do you think we can elude an entire battalion?"

    "Relax, my precious Zan," you say. Zan rolls his eyes. "You know me. I always have a plan." You start to reflect on Katarn and the Twi'lek, but only for a moment. The turbolift reaches the chasm. You and Zan get off.

    Edge of Chasm
    You both stand on the chasm's edge. Across the chasm, only a few troopers remain on the land mass. The majority of the men must have entered the mysterious passage or went to fix the furnace. Zan has no zipline on his utility belt. However, you do have a grappling hook in your inventory. There are pipes running through the stalactites above the chasm. If you attempt to grapple a pipe, three skills will be taken into account (Aim, Accuracy, and Dexterity). Luck would give you a bonus of +1.

    >grapple a pipe and make your way onto the land mass, then yell out to Zan to tell him to follow. Then when you both reach the other side, give a welcoming "Hello" to the Storm Troopers and casually walk past them.

Damn Imperial budget cuts. Anyway, you guys should really get up to the hangar bay, an escaped Rebel Scum named Kyle Katarn is dressed up like a stomtrooper and is currently trying to escape in a Jedi starfighter. That's good lad."

    To perform this feat, you need at least 3 skill points. AIM + ACCURACY + DEXTERITY + (LUCK) = 2 + 1 + 1 + (1) = 5

    Well done. You grapple the pipe with relative ease. Wondering how deep the chasm is, you swing across successfully. You now stand on the land mass, which juts upward from the abyss below forming a connection between the Room of Fire and the mysterious passage in the north wall. (+1 Accuracy, +2 Dexterity)

    "Zan! Your turn!" you yell across while sending the grapple back to your friend. "No worries! Piece of cake!" Although you are dressed as an imp, the few stormtroopers in the area become suspicious.

    To perform this feat, Zan needs at least 3 skill points. AIM + ACCURACY + DEXTERITY + (LUCK) = 1 + 0 + 1 + (0) = 2

    Zan Sey doesn't quite make it across. He pushes at the edge of the land mass with his toes, attempting not to fall. You run over to assist, but Zan lets go as he looks down into the abyss!

    'What just happened?' you question.

    Suddenly, a smiling Zan rises from beyond the ledge. He's riding atop the dome of R4-P23, or as you knew him, Arfour! The droid whistles a greeting as his thrusters change trajectory and he flies Zan over to stand next to you. Arfour's rocket boosters disengage, and he lands gracefully next to Zan. He beeps and whistles in excitement. You are astounded.

    Meanwhile, three troopers walk up to your group. Before they speak, you deliver a welcoming "Hello," and casually stroll past them towards the Room of Fire. Arfour beeps.



    OOC: Gotta split this weekend for a week-long trip. The game WON'T be abandoned. However, probably won't be able to respond for a week's time. A statistical update shall be posted before the trip, and the game shall resume promptly next week. :) Thanks for playing.

    The nearby imps are gawking at you, all three of them unsure of what to do. You're clearly their superior, but they don't recognize you. All three stormtroopers look at each other, wondering why you're in the company of an astromech droid.

    "Damn imperial budget cuts," you say to them. "Get up to the hangar bay, men. A rebel named Kyle Katarn is attempting to escape in a Jedi starfighter."

    The nearest trooper hesitates, and then sputters out some words. "Um... yes sir." He salutes. "Right away sir."

    Still dressed as a stormtrooper himself, Zan Sey laughs behind the helmet. Arfour beeps at the idiocy of these men.

    They march ahead of you, into the Room of Fire. You suppose they don't feel like grappling across again.

    You attempt to high five Zan again. This time he complies, but misses your hand. (-1 Essence of High Five) "I can't see a thing in this helmet," Zan uses as an excuse for his awkward dexterity.

    Land Mass
    The three of you face a passage that leads to the Room of Fire. A path leads into the chasm wall at the southwest edge of the land mass.



    The high five was NOT successful.



    You perform an impressive backflip at the center of the land mass. Arfour whistles in awe. (+1 Agility)

    "Would you be careful?" Zan warns. "We're still in a chasm, remember?" R4 beeps at Zan's jittery demeanor.

    During your week-long contemplation, it occurs to you that the mysterious passage must be crawling with imperial stormtroopers. Where else could they have gone? Also, you surmise that it will take time for Kyle Katarn's decryption module to override the imperial codes programmed into his starfighter. He must still be in the vessel, disguised as a stormie.

    You, Zan, and Arfour decide to inspect the mysterious southwest passage.

    Mysterious Passage
    The three of you enter the chasm wall and take a few steps in complete darkness. A fierce wind whips up from ahead and blasts into your group. You are all pushed back a few feet. When the breeze subsides, you can hear indistinct stormtrooper chatter from ahead. A windy gale starts up again, but it's not as powerful as the last.

    Your attempt to gauge the mysteries of the passage goes unfulfilled.

    Struggling against the wind, the three of you follow the chatter in complete darkness for about a standard minute. Then, you begin to see signs of light. As your eyes adjust, it becomes clear that dozens of troopers are ahead of you, guarding a mountain pathway. Could this actually be an exit from the imperial outpost? You're not sure, but there's something familiar about the mountainous view. The gale picks up again and you have to shield your face. This mighty wind reminds you of what you encountered upon the metallic walkways much earlier in your adventure. You can hear the shrieks of mynocks in the distance.

    A few of the stormtroopers believe your claim when you yell "Grenade!" They take cover. After all, you and Zan are dressed as an imp and a trooper. However, dozens of other stormies start to approach you slowly. They are baffled by the fact that you are accompanied by an astromech unit. Arfour beeps his concern about the situation. "I think these guys mean business," Zan shares. You have an opportunity to run back into the darkness before anyone fires a shot.

    >tell the Storm Troopers to stand down, and that you thought the astromech launched a grenade, but it was a false alarm. Then tell them that you were ordered to take the astromech to the exit of the outpost to feed him to the Mynocks.

    Dressed as an imperial officer, you command the stormtroopers to stand down. A few of the newer troopers comply, not wanting to get in trouble. However, there are still dozens of stormies with their blasters raised. They don't recognize you.

    "We thought the astromech had launched a grenade," you explain.

    Zan, in his trooper apparel, cringes at the bizarre fib.

    Before they can question your pitiful story, you continue with more. "It was a false alarm."

    The two lead stormtroopers stare at each other.

    "We were sent out here to feed this astromech unit to the mynocks," you lie.

    Arfour whistles his concern.

    "With all due respect sir," the lead trooper says. "Who are you?"

    Then, Zan Sey steps between you and the stormie. With a finger pointed at the trooper, Zan speaks in an authoritative tone. "How dare you question your superior!? Never mind who he is. I'm TC-1138, ALSO your superior, and I insist that you and your men stand down."

    The group of stormtroopers (three dozen) start to discuss the predicament among themselves. You listen, but the chatter is indistinct. Nevertheless, they have lowered their weapons.

    This gives you another chance to retreat into the Mysterious Passage.

    Opting not to speak in this crucial situation, you use the force with a wave of your hand. The nearest stormtrooper peers down to find that his pants have dropped, revealing his undergarment. All the pieces of his plasteel leg armor clatter against the metallic pathway. Due to the fact that you're outdoors, there is no corner for the trooper to go cry at. However, the odd dropping of his pants is enough to distract the others. Now's your chance to split.


    You and your companions retreat back into the windy darkness of the Mysterious Passage. Arfour whistles along as you merrily sing a classic.

    "Yub nub, eee chop yub nub.
    Ah toe meet toe peechee keene,
    G'noop dock fling oh ah."

    Zan Sey doesn't appear to know the lyrics. He sighs at your fluency in Ewokese.

    "Yahwah, eee chop yahwah.
    Ah toe meet toe peechee keene,
    G'noop dock fling oh ah."

    Even though it's dark, you can tell that Zan is steamed. "Could you at least sing in basic?!" he complains. "They're gonna realize we're not imps!"

    You continue the song. "Celebrate the freedom. Celebrate the power. Celebrate the glory. Celebrate the love."

    Arfour joins in again with his warbling.

    "Glory, we found glory. The power showed us the light, and now we all live free."

    Zan grabs you by the shoulder. "That's enough already!"
