The answer is:
Luke's experience is meant to instruct him of the all-inclusive nature of the Dark Side; it's an equal-opportunity enslaver, and just because Vader is to Luke the epitome of evil does not mean that no one else could rise to that same level by giving in to their aggression (or carrying weapons into caves when their masters tell 'em not to). In light of the subsequent revelation about Vader's connection to Luke, this message is particularly significant, though the message was not meant to convey a familial relationship.

Yoda considered this a failure in that Luke was unable to put aside his weaponry, and therefore, symbolically, his aggression.

I believe there were 4:
1) Dave Prowse- the actor/ body
2) James Earl Jones- the voice
3) Two stunt men who filled in during the duel with Alec Guiness and Mark Hamill, because David Prowse kept breaking the lightsabers. I don't know their names though (you didn't ask for it anyway).

Also, there could be a 5th, as Ben Burtt supplied the sound effects for vaders rasping breath.

Actually, there were five people - Sebastian Shaw played the reformed Darth Vader/Anakin in ROTJ too. I don't think Ben Burtt should count.

Lando was running a Tibanna gas mine on Bespin and was therefore also administrator of Cloud City.

Oops! Sorry guys, How could I forgot Sebastian Shaw. I heard that Dave Prowse origianlly filmed the scene with Mark Hamill. They later reshot it because Lucas was miffed at Prowse for shooting his mouth off which got leaked to the press that Vader would remove his mask in ROTJ. Not to digress from the trivia forum, but is this true or just a rumor? Does anyone know the names of the stuntment who played Vader?
