Hello, What is the "awakening" they are talking about in episode VII ? Is it the fact that Rey was 'found' ? Or that Finn left the stormtroopers to join the Resistance (and maybe becoming a Jedi too if he has the power). Other little thing: if the lightsaber Rey was using during the fight against Kylo Ren, why is it blue instead of green ? Regards from Belgium
The awakening, Rey learning the ways of the Force, having major visions etc... Why Blue? Because it's Anakin's lightsaber
Well as for Finn's awakening. I believe it just refers to this.. http://www.starwars.com/databank/finn
Lukes & Anakins lightsabers are the same right ? Because in IV Obi-wan gives it to Luke. But it seems to be an 'error' from V to VI. Because in VI when he's fighting Vader it's green: But in V when he's fighting Vader for the first time it's blue: If I remember well in VI Vader says (when Luke gave him his saber) that he 'enhanced' his saber and so his training is complete. So normally it should still be green I suppose ?
These are two different sabers -- Luke's blue saber in IV and V is Anakin's, given to him by Obi-Wan. He loses that along with his hand in ESB, and builds a new one, which is the green you see in ROTJ. As it happens, Lucas only made the saber green so you could see it against the blue sky of Tatooine. I am pretty happy with that accidental change, as it seems green sabers now embody more 'balanced' Jedi like Qui-Gon and Luke.
While I take your meaning, I'm almost duty-bound to ask, here: Good god, was it really necessary to resurrect to a two-year old thread from the dead just to get that in? And in response to a member who apparently contributed a grand total of four posts over four days before never returning to the JCF? Anyway, I'd be much more interested in your thoughts on the 'awakening.' Now, yes. But particularly after we've all seen TLJ. I can't help but wonder how your (and our collective) views on the events will have evolved from where things stood following TFA. And Bob Effette? Good call on that edit.
IMHO is a way to get around the One prophecy of balance. Anakin brought balance to the Force* The Force awakened another dark threat and a light hero to fight it and wash and repeat * for a very brief period of time ~ 5-7 years
You know I honestly didn’t even realize it was that old, sorry my apologies. I guess I was a couple pages in when I saw this, but you are absolutely right, this didn’t need to be drug up. I thought it quite strange the questions laid out. The snark c Just had to be released!
A lot of the titles have multiple meanings. The Force Awakens is no different. Rey is realizing her powers and abilities, the First Order and Kylo Ren are asserting themselves, Finn's humanity awakens, the search for Luke has commenced, and R2 literally wakes out of low power mode
Based on one of the new tv spots I have a new awakening theory: Spoiler It's the awakening of the "something else" that Rey senses. There are light users and there are dark users (light force and dark force) but there's something else. And based on the hints from other sources, the most likely is the so called "gray force" or Bendhu-type nonsense
